No easy games now. I don’t know why I feared the French. Switzerland proved that anything is possible, and this should be good. Hopefully Enrique makes the right adjustments. I’m finally starting to believe that we can reclaim our glory from 9 years ago. Viva España c@rajo!!!

The Swiss are precisely the type of team that gives us trouble... I still remember the 1-0 loss in 2010.
That said, they are more open now.. it is really more of an eastern European style of football than a traditional defensive swiss style.

I am really concerned about of defense.. letting 2 goals in the matter of minutes + the complete collapse due to a freaking sub.

My biggest fear is Enrique messing everything up and putting us on the back foot with his selection. As in the second half of Croatia, he got it all wrong with his changes. On paper, we’re stronger than Switzerland, but as the showed us all on Monday, football isn’t played on paper

Exactly and Switzerland if they play defensive minded type football to frustrate you Spaniards then I can see it being a pretty even contest

It’s shown that when a team parks the bus and let’s us have possession, we struggle. Yes, we’ve scored 10 in the last 2 games, albeit 2 own goals against Slovakia, however we still lack a threat in front of goal.

Morata has to prove himself, he missed so many chances since the Euros have started.
Yes, he scored a great goal the last game but we need a Villa.. someone that can consistently score. Morata is painfully average... he is no Villa but he is what we have.

Lets hope he proves us wrong.

I like Morata, and I feel he shouldn’t be criticized for his lack of goals, since he does so much more. He’s like Seferovic (when playing for Benfica) for the Swiss. He needs an abundance of chances for one goal. He’s a workhorse for sure, but unreliable when it comes to being your main guy up front

I completely agree. He presses and is always running and also creates chances and draws lots of fouls.
Morata is not bad and if anything he is good. I mean why else would big clubs keep buying him... I just wish we had a Villa next to him.

It's very early to tell if Ansu Fati will pan out. unfortunately, he got injured early this season. Hopefully he picks up where he left off.
I remember when everyone was saying Bojan was the next Ronaldo.. I am not really holding my breath till it happens.

Edit: Interesting.. I had no idea Bojan had serious anxiety issues. What the hell happened to Bojan Krkić? - Oh My Goal - YouTube

Spain if they beat Switzerland they face the winner of Italy/Belgium in the semis and could they beat Italy or Belgium especially in a semi final?

I think it's 50/50 playing against any team.

I also think Italy is the best side in the tournament.
Portugal got Portugaled by Belgium. Will Italy get Italied by Belgium? We shall see.

Baby steps. We’ll get over one hurdle at a time. I don’t want to think too far ahead. I think it’s anyone’s game. This isn’t the caliber of team we had 10-15 years ago. There isn’t a script written for us yet.

    Yuk.. those white kits again.

Luis will die with Morata if he has to... I wonder if they sit next to each other on the bus.

Two draws in the red kits.
    Two victories in white.
Whatever it takes I'm all for it.

How come the refs let defenders kick the forwards a few times before they even get a verbal warning !?

    It’s not the 1970’s

Morata was kicked up in the air ( from behind) after about 90 seconds

What are they doing in the back.. I don't understand.

The swiss are so solid and organized as expected. I was hoping the goal would open things up but they are fully committed to their plan.

Very boring first half. We’ve dominated in possession, but I’m still not convinced. The backline looks shaky with the ball at their feet, and makes me thing that later on in the game, the Swiss will capitalize from an error.
