Hungary joins the group of death. Let's hope this time around Portugal take care of business instead of last time with the 3-3 draw.

Lol bumping something from a year ago. Wonder why you didn't bunk this thread after Porto was getting throttled by Braga a couple weeks ago.

Makes no sense, none of the goals conceded were his fault.
First one, the lb didnt play a proper offside trap
second, one of his teammates lost possession near their box
    third was a free kick.

So, in your eyes, the greatest defender Portugal has ever had has absolutely nothing to do with Porto crashing out of the Taca da Liga, Taca da Portugal and the fact that Porto is in 3rd place, 10 points out of first place.

    Got it.

I came back here to look for that exact post and eat some crow, he's been excellent this season and easily still one of the top CB's in Europe.

With Pepe and Dias in the form theyre in (Dias absolutely transformed Man City), Gurreiro stapled to a leftback role in a back 4 all season, and Cancelo winning a starting spot at Man City, we will have an exciting defense.

Ricardo is back from injury as well, he and Cancelo both play LB/RB really well, which offers good flexibility.

Ronaldo lost Serie A? When? Also, you're talking about the world's best player still playing on an elite team, albeit surrounded by subpar scrubs like Betancur and Bernardeschi. Not a dude who's only good enough to play for a Portuguese feeder club nowadays. Ronaldo also created the first goal for Juve. It's not his fault that his supporting cast are complete trash.

Don't get me wrong, Pepe is an absolute animal and he is, without a doubt, the best defender in the history of the Portuguese NT. It's just such a lame ass thing to do to bump this thread after his performance against Juve. The dude has been a liability on this defense a number of times the season.

Seems like you enjoy bumping threads when on the rare occasions that they meet your narrative.

Well I hope I didn't hurt your feelings. And I certainly hope there isn't any jealousy there.

Nuno Mendes got his leg broken with a horrific tackle, he was looking fantastic....he'll be lucky to reach his potential now.

Similar to what happened with Luke Shaw, he's ok now, but it took 2 years to recover and he's never been the same.

Looks like a miracle happened, quoting the words of Sporting's medical department. Not as serious as first feared.

    Damn. Shame.

Btw what are the chances of Andre Silva to start. He's been scoring for free in Germany.

It looks like Jota won’t be fit for the tournament. Hard luck for him and for the squad.

Guedes has been in form recently he should definitely go, and even start.

From what Klopp said, he should be fine for the Euro, but won't be fit for the last week and a half of the EPL season.

We definitely need him to challenge, he's the perfect forward for the system we play with Ronaldo.

EDIT: Just read on Abola that Klopp has revealed more details, indicating he'll need 2 weeks in a walking boot before being re-evaluated.

Doesn't look good. Huge loss if he's not there.

The problem with Guedes is that he only performs like that a few times a season, and is far too inconsistent.

With Pedro Neto injured and the squad expanded to 26, he should be called though.

The last spot will probably be between Rafa/Trincao, as I'm pretty sure William Carvalho will be called...Santos will try to get him in shape before the tournament starts.
