Its going to be a war vs. Spain simply for the similar style clash. Two teams playing 433 who want the ball.

Tuttosport is claiming that Mancini is considering shifting Di Lorenzo to left back

I forgot to include in this post from other thread, Italy at the 1980 Euro placed 4th place as host...

For some reason thet could never win or do well at the competition after winning it in 1968....

Fingers crossed for either you guys or the Danish to win it all. You made tremendous good work since 2018, something Germany only could dream of to emulate in the future. A shame Spinazzola can't play on. I especially love how you cheer defensive actions like scoring.

All teams go through major rebuilds, some of it is coaching and some of it is old players. Germany doesn't have a talent problem, they have(had) a Löw problem. I think once you guys get a decent manager you'll be back in it and we can go back to hating each other lol. I'm sure we all agree that we don't want England to win this.

You can say the 2014 German cycle has ended but there is enough good talent for Flick to turnover this team fast in time for the WC. Low became a stale bag of chips. No ideas and no ability to create a new core

This would mean playing Toloi as right back. I like this!

Looks like it was deleted, still though i wouldn't be surprised. I still don't understand how both the semi and final ended up at Wembley, so much for "neutral tournament"

    It's not true.

But you can bet that England will have the majority of fans in that stadium.

Not really, the 8-team competitions between 1980 and 1992 were very competitive (UEFA only had 33 members then as well).

I think 8 years - 2 4-year int'l cycles - is the maximum any coach should sit on the NT bench for.

But only the game against Croatia - which will be 8 days ago come Tuesday - was particularly intense. I think it'll have little bearing on the game.

In order to reach the final, Italy will have to do what no team has done before and stop Spain at the semifinal stage.

They have progressed from all of their previous 5 semifinals (1964, 84, 2008, 10, 12). They also progressed from both their Olympic tournament semifianls in 1992 and 2000.

Euro 96 is when it really kicked into gear. Commercially speaking it started to feel like a major competition on the level of a WC

Thanks! I obviously hope its us, but I like Denmark as well and hope we can face them in the finals!

You guys will be back before you know it. I really think that you do have some promising young talent, but Jochiam Low is just not using it right. That is honestly what happened with Giampiero Ventura and us. We really did have the talent but he just had no clue how to use it and made terrible decisions.

Don't quote me on this, because obviously I don't know Germany as well as I know my Italy, but I just wonder if you might be a lot more successful if you maybe played in a way that is similar to Klopp's Liverpool? What about using a 4-3-3, and playing Muller as striker with Sane and Reus on the wings? High pressing, long ball instead of possession based? Play Gundogan and Goretzka in midfield.

    -Sane-Muller-Timo Werner-
    -Gundogan-DM-Goretzka-
    -Gosens-Hummels-Rudiger-Kimmich-
    -Neuer-
With Kroos retiring, I am not sure who is your best regista so I just put DM, but you fill that in for me. What do you think of something like that?

I'm not against that option. A more defensive approach vs Alba and Azpilicueta could be in the cards. Take away their very good wide play, and force the game to the middle of the pitch, where Italy should have the advantage.
