I doubt it. Russia is coming up strong against Belgium. I mean Belgium is ahead because they are clearly the superior team but Russia is not playing badly and I think they've started the second half on the front foot.

Congrats to Finland for the first victory, but yeah, they should have held off a day. Scheduling is hard, but that must have been extremely tough.

I have to say that Russia Finland in St. Petersburg is going to be quite the derby. I expect a hard fought match. Finland is tough and seems to belong.

Man the A team of Twellman and Champion have no chemistry at all. They don't play off each other well and it's awkward listening to them call a game.

I was harsh, just remember some deadly boring games from Rússia they actually have a very good history in the tournament.

Football is a business, do not blame them in wanting to finish the game today, tomorrow after some rest would of been the better option.

Wow, that was the most surreal game in my life as a football spectator.

I never thought I'd live to see the day Finland would even play in a major tournament. There have been a lot of jokes around here how it's traditional Finnish luck that we finally manage to qualify, and then we have the whole tournament get postponed and cast into doubt. When the game started, I was still joking about something still happening to keep it from finishing. How close we got to that...

Suddenly the game changed from being in suspense over a result to being in suspense over a man's life. It was insane. I was 100% sure I had just witnessed the last moments of Christian Eriksen on this earth.

The shocks keep coming in when it's announced Eriksen is still alive and the game is going to continue. Cue 45 more mins of disbelief. The softest goal we've ever scored from our only chance in the game, penalty save, and it seems like Finland is finally getting paid back a hundred year's worth of karma in one match. After the penalty save, it became obvious we had this one in the bag. It was one of those games where Denmark were never going to score. I feel bad for them. They had such high hopes for this tourney, and it's all crashing down in a horrible way.

Maybe I'm biased, but this had to be one of the most memorable games in Euros history? For better or for worse, Finland have made their mark.

It seems like this whole tournament is under a spell. Somehow I have the feeling something out of the ordinary is still going to happen, whether it's in a good way or bad. At the very least some team will have a huge Covid outbreak, right?

Reminiscent to how Denmark beat Holland in 2012. Finland may not have names like Hyypia and Litamen to call on anymore, but they are the sum of their parts and play for each other.

Several of the Danish players were not able to focus on the game at all and asked to be subbed out, including the captain Simon Kjær. I think they did fairly well, all considering.

I just hope that they will be ready vs. Belgium and not least the last and decisive home game vs. Russia.

Twellman speculating about Ericson having a heart issue was disgusting. He’s really proven what an idiot he is today. As if we ever had doubt.

Twellman was correct and we all saw the medics giving CPR. What else does one give chest compressions for?

I don't get why the Danish players didn’t take the day to recover before plying the rest of the match

Because Eriksen had told them and the NT coach to carry on and finish the game, it just proved to be a mistake, because non of them were able to focus on the game, but then they would probably also not have been able to focus the next day either. The Finland captain has said that they would have agreed to any solution the Danish players could come up with, so in principle they could have agreed to go through the motions and just play the ball around at the center of the pitch, to let it finish 0-0

But not all is lost, Eriksen is recovering and they can still advance from the group with a bit of luck.

Back in 92, when Denmark became Champions, there were also the big drama in the Danish NT camp with the issue of Kim Vilfort's 6-yo daughter being in hospital on the brink of dying of Leukemia, so Vilfort was traveling back and forth from hospital between the games, also having to skip one of the games, but scoring for Denmark in the decisive penalty shoot-out vs. the Netherlands in the Semi-finals, and also the 2-0 goal vs. Germany to win the Trophy. His daughter unfortunately died 6 weeks after the tournament.

There is a movie on Netflix called The Summer of 92 (Sommeren 92) that tell the full story about how it all happened, from Richard Møller Nielsen getting the job as NT coach, despite the Danish FA actually not really being all that keen on him, but hired him when they could not come to an agreement with the other options on their list and about Michael Laudrup then quitting the NT, the qualifiers and then suddenly going unprepared to the finals, also the story about Vilfort and his daughter.

A million things can go wrong but not all of them imply a heart problem. A brain aneurism, for example. Bottom line is that Twellman should not be speculating about that sort of thing.

You have a cool name, a cooler avatar, but what you're saying doesn't make a lick of difference. Twellman was right in the end, so that's that. With that said, I agree he's an idiot.

I don’t think you understand. The point is that it’s highly irresponsible for a journalist (or whatever it is) to speculate about the health condition of a player, regardless of whether he made a lucky guess.

I understand. I understand your a dork when you could be Jazzy Altidore, West Mckennie's booty loving alter ego. Give your username and avatar the respect it deserves and stop annoying us about how Twellman is an idiot savant because he correctly guessed Ericksen had a heart attack.

Found a trailer with English subs, but it should be on Netflix both in Europe and the USA as I have been told .

Short clip in Danish below, explained > The girlfriend of John Jensen is angry and feeling cheated of the vacation he promised her, and he is trying to assure her that they will be playing like shite anyway and most likely will be going home after 3 games, or if not, he could be sold to Real Madrid or something, and she will feel like being on "vacation" all the time, which she obviously do not believe. While Jensen is trying to get his bag from the backseat of the car but is stuck in the window she has rolled up in anger, then the already famous Peter Schmeichel arrive in his fancy car, and then all of a sudden the fans and press are there.

Well, one thing we can be sure of is that it was not a brain aneurism, but cardiac arrest and that Eriksen, after some quick CPR, woke up straight away after the first attempt use of a defibrillator. We have now also been told by NT coach Kasper Hjulmand that Eriksen actually watched the last 10 minutes of the game from his bed at the hospital, so it do not really imply an underlying heart problem as such, at least not according to some Danish specialists, but obviously further tests will show ... nor not show at all, if it was a one-off freak accident caused by dehydration, low blood sugar and Hypokalemia or something like that.
