Srna was told after the Turkey game that his father died. He left sqaud to attend the funeral and now he's back.

    Can't imagine.

Ireland on the verge of getting 3 points, which gives them a strong chance of going through. Sweden have been the better team since the goal and it should be tied.

Touch of Zlatan to cause the own goal.

Now Ireland back on the front foot.

Not just an own-goal, a powerful header own goal, wasn't it. Shame :(

I always support teams from our little group of islands even if they don't support us. As much as anything because almost all the players normally play in England.

And Clark who scored the own goal was once our U19's captain :ROFLMAO:Feel free to cheer them on but I've not cheered the other home nations for many years due constant bitterness towards us but you're probably a better man than me. :giggle:

Three former England youth internationals have scored in this tournament. Eric Dier, Hal Robson-Kanu and Ciaran Clark.

Only exception for me is the Jocks, 1978 happened at a very impressionable age for me.

Italy were looking average and they pull out the goal from nowhere..

Pelle has a free header 5 yards out and bungles it. Should have been 2-0..
Belgium have all these elite players and dont seem to gel. I dont think their head coach is up to much...

Well, not sure about that mate :D

With players that play and don't look particularly good in your own league, if you slag them off too much and they do well, maybe your OWN league isn't that good. IOW who are you insulting if you say they're shit.

If fellas from Derby and Palace look like world beaters and the players on YOUR team, England, look better in direct comparison, then you ARE a better side even if you don't show it in the tournie.

    That's my point.

Perfect tactical plan from Italy. They look a threat.

Unlike WC '14, it looks like they've actually turned up for this tournament.

Yeah, will be interesting to see how they do against the other teams in their group though. They will both be more reserved in their approach.

My second team in the tournament is Iceland. Hope they do well tomorrow. I read somewhere that some lads from England had got tickets to one of their games and wanted to go in the Iceland supermarket uniform :)

Since you say that, it felt like I was watching England a bit. Was a lot like our game with them in the world cup. Italy get a goal and defend clinically.

In the World Cup they had a weak group and beat teams by wearing them out with their skillful individuals late in games, but now they'll be up against tougher opposition.

Same old Lukaku from two years ago. His touch is so poor.

I wouldn't mind playing against Belgium.

I think Italy have been the best team so far based on their skill, spirit, and gameplan execution. They have enough talent to get a goal and defend so well, while having the ability to get a second.
