I think this tournament has shown how poor the coaches have been in international football. Deschamps got to the final and I still think he was average.

Along with Greece one of the worst teams quality wise to ever win a Tournament.

But to be fair they work as a TEAM and were very hard to beat. Unbeaten in 7 games.

France have no excuse, No Ronaldo for around 110 minutes, at home.

Ronaldo needed to win an international tournie to cement a legacy..
    Messi will never get that.

If Man Utd even consider paying 100 million for him then I will lose all respect for them.

He is a 50-60 million player at most. He was a complete flop this tournament and in the 2015
    Champions League final.

This was a disappointing tournament overall for me. Part of it has to do with England going out, but there wasn't much flare at all. Obviously if England were in it longer then I would've enjoyed it more.

Honestly if we won it the way Portugal did, would any of you feel like we've deserved it?

    Me too. I've been there:

My high school basketball team outlasted their opponents to win districts a couple years back. The team we beat had four future college division 1 players, including Jayson Tatum, who you'll hear about in the NBA next year. But, we had an amazing point guard with a great team spirit. You could he was a like a Maradona type point guard where he was small, but so quick that you couldn't touch him. Also there is no shot clock, which allowed us to hold on. We went on a big run to start the 2nd half and held out to win. Played good defense too. The other team's announcers, albeit biased students, criticised our team for holding the ball to make their team come out and try to steal or foul, while they were playing "the right way." They also argued that there should be a shot clock for basketball in Missouri. Sour grapes.

That victory was our first district championship since 2003 and still the last one we've won. That was also the greatest win in school history and nobody cares how did it. In fact we played with some flare as well.

Just goes to show that it doesn't matter how ugly you play to win a championship as long as you aren't cheating.

Unless they don't qualify then he'll retire. Kinda like what Zlatan did with Sweden. Portugal are getting better, but still aren't that great without Ronaldo. I do feel like they'll be better when he's gone. I think he's always limited them because he needs to be involved with everything on the attack. Overall they could be a very creative side.

Looked, to me, like there were two tactics.

2/Go balls to the wall for the first 20 minutes to desperately get an early goal. If you score then go back and hang on by your fingertips until you give up a pen and a last second Owen Gole ...and lose.

2/Park the bus and keep 11 men in your area for the first half. Until the other team have shot their bolt. Then give up a last minute PK or Owen Gole as you get caught trying to break out ....and lose.

We will have a far far better team in Russia...the only problem is if our coach will actually let us play footy?

    That remains to be determined:D
