Proud of the boys so far!! what a great permanence they put in all the 3 matches and topping the group of death with 9 points!
This should be an easier game to win than the three games we played so far specially that Greece will be missing their top player and captain who scored the only goal in the Russia game, Giorgos Karagounis. They will also be missing Jose Holebas due to suspensions. Boateng will return to play as a starter.

known that the Greek will have 15 people in defense, i am not sure if our regular game so far will get us the result. Loew might need to spice things up in the front to get us the right results -- but i have faith in Loew and i know we will win!!

    Lets go Germany!!

    Crosses from flanks, set pieces?

Countless other options, I really hope we score early and really open them up for the rest of the game.

I know it will never happen, but I'd like to see this trying to unlock the Greek... lock:

    --------------- Schweinsteiger
    -- Müller --- Özil ------- Götze ------- Reus
    -------------------- Klose

Not looking forward to the game. Greece parks the bus too much. I think it'll be a tough one.

The big question is Boatang or Bender against Greece?

Yah I think they will pretty much park the bus for 90 mins and try long ball counters to the lone striker.

They're going to try to do it 2004 style..

We have to do everything we can to score first and open them up, if we do we can start tearing them apart.

We are going to have 90% possession in this one.

Set pieces need to be worked on both in defense and offense.

They could very well sucker punch us with a set piece and were packing..

On the other hand a set piece for us and we could very well open them up for the rest of the game..

Podolski should not start and now knowing that Greece will defend with 10 men he must be benched put Schurrle or Reus.

this will not happen but maybe this

    -----------Kroos---- Schweinsteiger
    -- Müller ---------- Özil ----------- Reus/Schurrle
    -------------------- Gomez

We will see what loew puts out..

But khadira has played quite well this euro.
I am guessing people want to see kroos because he can offer more offensive punch for this match?

Yes (Khedira playing well) and yes (Kroos supposedly offering more to unlock tight defenses).

But I guess with Khedira having developed into a leader figure on the pitch and Podolski having secured his starting spot with that goal today until the final (of World Cup 2014), chances aren't great to see Kroos and Reus/Schürrle start. And even less so for Götze, who I would regard as maybe Germany's biggest weapon against a defense like that of the Greek team. If he's in top form, that is.

We might as well see the same starting formation as we have so far, with Boateng returning and the rest remaining unchanged. At least Schürrle got half an hour today, but other than that, even the subs were the same ones again. Seems like the only chance to see Reus/Götze/Kroos getting some (extended) playing time would be when things go wrong and, ultimately, get desperate. That should better be prevented from happening though.

I'll bet 10k € on Zieler and Schmelzer replacing Neuer and Lahm from now on.

Im guessing a tough battle against the greeks. Quality-wise this is no game, but since they are gonna defend with everything they´ve got and probably even with all the political backround in their heads it will be quite humorless. Boateng back for Bender and maybe, but I doubt so, Poldi out for either Schürrle/Reus or Super-Götze. I´d be a fan of Götze starting actually. Nevertheless, I predict a hard 1-0 win.

This is going to be tough - we definitely have to give it all we've got or we might end up like Russia. I think we'll see the same starting 11 that we saw in the first two games - I am hoping for earlier and more aggressive subs, though.

By the way, about the goal Russia conceded against Greece.... what the hell was that defending by Zhirkov and where were the centre backs. To call that schoolboy defending would be an insult to schoolboys. Really absolutely shocking and I am not even a Russian fan. I would be going mad if I were the coach.....
The other goal I remember greece scoring was a gift by Szczesny.
And let's not forget the only goal they scored against Czech Republic was an even bigger gift from Petr Cech.
So all three goals they've scored so far have been amateurish errors by the opposition. They havent scored a proper goal yet.I hope Germany's defense and keeper are better than that. The Greek team is extremely lucky but their luck is gonna run out on Friday.

Too bad Jermaine Jones and Kevin-Prince Boateng aren't available anymore. Those two are quite aggressive.

I'd like to agree, but we did, in quite an amateurish manner, just let the Danes score from a set piece, so...

They could very well deliver the sucker punch from set pieces..

Loew needs to practice both defense and offense set pieces this week...
