Is Motta definitely out? I would have thought if fit he would get the nod over Montolivo.

    We need a winning quote.
I do fear an army of sheep, if they are led by a lion. (Oops, perhaps not that one!)
Me. I think we have an army of lions led by a sheep! (better)
    How about this then?
And gentlemen in Engerland now abed, Shall think themselves accursed they were not here, and hold their manhood's cheep while any speaks, That fought with us upon quarter final day.
    Hmm...OTT?

Unchanged lineup for England. The "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" strategy.

Slice by De Rossi but nearly worked perfectly for him, off the post.

    Johnson had a sitter there.

The two common incidents are Young/Johnson giving the ball away leading to Parker tackles.

We had a good start but got sloppy. After about 60 minutes I would get Walcott in .

    0-0 HT.

Must keep pressing Pirlo, every time he is able to pick a forward pass he creates a chance. Welbeck has done pretty well at it but Rooney needs to help him out more.

Have to get at their fullbacks more, we are overloading their diamond when we push our fullbacks on and get them 2v1.

Rooney has to do more on the ball as well, looks short of the fire Balotelli has.

Am I the only one who finds Milner's attempts to dribble comically tragic?

Italy are sooooooooooooooooooooo slooooooooooowwwww...and we can't keep hold of the ball at all. I don't think Germany are worried.

Milner needs to be subbed off for Walcott.. Slow, and giving away possession time and time again.

The score could be 2-2 on good chances. Balotelli has broken the off side trap twice .

That's because Rooney and Wellbeck aren't being disciplined enough in tracking him deep.

Welbeck went for the placement instead of accurate power.. Johnson couldn't get enough on the ball to get it past Buffon..

Milner has had many chances to get at Italy's deep third, but too slow and uncreative enough to get by. Need to attack them with pace, bring on Walcott

Italy have worked out that if you pressure Parker he can do nothing but pass backwards.

Rooney needs to be more disciplined - everytime Pirlo is given time he plays a dangerous pass into the area between the central defence and midfielders. I am sick of him playing in the hole for England in tournaments whether he is fit or not.

Balotelli makes great runs off the ball.

Johnson has the beating of them down the right, but he needs to make sure he only attacks when there is space in which to move into.

Pirlo is running the game. What happened to hodgson's masterplan?
