I'm so glad England aren't in Group B. Otherwise we'd really have no chance of making it out of Group stages.

Hansen is a sweaty sock. Must have had afew too many cans of tennants extra .

Even if Portugal werent in the same group as Holland and Germany you would have to be lacking judgement to back them as a top 4 bet .

I'm surprised too. Especially now they're appearing in the tournament in England's place. :D

Surprised by the probable French line-up

    Lloris
    Debuchy, Rami, Mexes, Evra
    Cabaye, Diarra, Malouda
    Nasri, Benzema, Ribery

I would certainly drop Nasri deeper and play one of Menez, Ben Arfa or Valbuena wide in the front 3. Also Alou Diarra is no Yann M'Vila and will be a weakness for them. Then the defence can be penetrated. Debuchy not the greates in the air at the back post and Mexes although I think he is a decent footballer is prone to the odd error from nowhere. Not sure of Lloris has improved his aerial ability either.

Bet you the commentator will go on about the famed '87 generation of Nasri, Benzema, Ben Arfa and Menez when the game is on !

Nasri is NOT a playmaker, he's better when he comes in from the wings. This midfield works fine, it gives a good balance between the defence and the attack. Yeah M'Villa is better than Diarra but not by far, and Diara has more experience haven played a world cup final (2006). The real issue is the defence (Mexes in particular).

In and out of the Marseille line-up that finished 9th or 10th last season. Only selected in this squad because he is a favourite of Laurent Blanc from their time at Bordeaux together. If the French public got their way, he would be nowhere near the squad.

Dropping deeper doesn't necessarily make you a play-maker. In fact any of those 3 starting in mf 3 are not play-makers. Just seems to me that I would utilise one of Ben Arfa, Menez or Valbuena instead of Malouda. Think Malouda is a good player but I think one of those 3 left out could increase your cutting edge.

All this is true. But if you followed M'Villa's season too, you'll know he had a disappointing season too.

The thing is that Ben Harfa, Valbeuana & most especially Menez barely defend. So i completely understand why Blanc prefers Malouda who was actually solide in the friendlies.

Not a great start to their coverage. Basing themselves in Salford seems ridiculous too because you don't get the feel of the tournament.
