Perisic looked good now waiting for Goetze to see some action...if Germany and Holland are tied after 75 min today...I am expecting Yogi to bring on Goetze
Yeah. I should have started this thread when some of us talked about Perisic. I know I could see a vast difference in Perisic's game from the time he joined us to his performance the other day. Perisic's defensive game has gotten better and he seems to be making good decisions instinctively. I believe that's down to Klopp. I hope so. I still believe Low should be starting Reus or Schurrle ahead of the Princess......
Netherlands Feel Heat Ahead Of Germany Test Netherlands coach Bert van Marwijk was "irritated and tense" by his own admission, but Germany's Joachim Löw expects to face a Dutch side shorn of their shackles on Wednesday. The Dutch coach was quick to concede that his team were "under pressure" after one sucker-punch condemned them to that defeat by the Danes, but Wednesday's encounter against Germany hardly represents the easiest fixture to kickstart their UEFA EURO 2012 campaign. History alone says as much: the 1974 FIFA World Cup final, the 1988 UEFA European Championship semi-final, not to mention a heated meeting at the 1990 World Cup. Throw in a 3-0 friendly reverse against Germany last year and it is easy to see why Van Marwijk and his team, in temperatures upwards of 30C, are feeling the heat. "Of course the atmosphere is tense," said the 60-year-old. "For a big game like this – especially after you have just lost – of course it's going to be tense, here and in the Netherlands. That's why sometimes we're going to be irritated, but that's why we're going to have to be even more motivated." Click here for the rest of the story at UEFA.com
Reus maybe...not Schurrle....but over Mueller Poldi's goal-scoring record in tournaments speaks for itself....his left-foot shot is as good as anyone in the biz
Poland's Dortmund Trio Living Up To Hype WARSAW, Poland (AP) — Poland was counting on its Borussia Dortmund trio to provide the engine for the national team at the European Championship, and so far they haven't disappointed. Since taking over as Poland coach in late 2009, Franciszek Smuda has overhauled the squad and built it anew around the talents of Dortmund teammates Robert Lewandowski, Jakub Blaszczykowski and Lukasz Piszczek. * * * It's these talents that Poland will be calling on yet again on Saturday for the team's final Group A match, against the Czech Republic, where a win would secure the co-host a place in the quarterfinals. I'd take either of the three over the Princess right now. What means the most when a player is on the field at that moment? His current form or his past accomplishments??? That's really doing Low a lot of good with Mertesacker.
dont compare Per with Poldi.. Mertesecker is coming off a somewhat major injury Poldi has not been 'bad' in recent internationals or this past season...
Just wanted to echo the comments expressed by others in that I have been extremely impressed with the performances of the Dortmund players. The ESPN broadcasts repeatedly mention "Borussia Dortmund" any time one of our players is playing. Pretty awesome! Hope everyone enjoys the matches today. Group B is lots of fun.
German stats for 2nd game of group matches. Poldi's selfishness and need to be the center of everything are the greatest reasons her team fell apart and were relegated. Hopefully, they will learn to let her stay gone this time. There's a reason the Princess puts up the numbers she does. And none of it has to do with consistently effective play or hard work. It has to do with coaches who feed the diva bitch's need to be the center of everything. When she isn't the center of everything, she fails. And when she's the center of everything and is no longer interested, she fails. Perfect case in point were her years at Bayern. It is much like that with Germany now. They don't need her like before. And it is showing. Take a look at the records. Especially in Koln. When her numbers went up, the TEAM FAILED! I use "she" and "Princess" in reference to Podolski because she's the biggest diva bitch I've ever seen in German football. Ever heard people say, "If the wife isn't happy, then no one is happy?" That's how it is with the Princess. If she isn't the center of attention, she isn't happy. And if she isn't happy, no one is happy. That's what happened in Koln. This goes all the way back to when Podolski first came up with Koln. They integrated her into the team and it quickly became all about her. Not long after that, they were relegated. She went to Bayern and failed because she refused to fight for playing time. Meanwhile, Koln put together a good team led by Novakovic and not only got back to the Bundesliga, but comfortably stayed there and looked to be getting better. Then they brought HER back......... One good year, followed by everything starting to be about her and just staying in the league. And then, of course, RELEGATION again. The Princess had great numbers, but the team was relegated. Because once again, they let it all become about her. I will agree that when the Princess is "hot", there's hardly anyone better. Only Messi and Ronaldo come to mind. But the Princess isn't "hot" right now. I hope she proves me wrong today. I hope she goes to Arsenal and makes me start using HE again. I once thought this person would become the greatest German player ever. Much of my fury isn't hatred, it is strong disappointment. I've got no reason to hate Lukas Podolski. I just hate that this lazy, diva bitch could have and should have been so much more. Watching her year after year have led me to these conclusions. She "hasn't been bad in internationals?" She scored one goal in all of qualifying last year. I'm sorry, I'm going from what she's done lately, not what she did in 2010, 2008 or 2006. I know why she scored the goals she did for Koln this past season. It was all about her. They did better when she and Novakovic shared the goal-scoring load. But of course, she didn't like that arrangement....... I also know when they needed her most, she was nowhere to be found. From match 25 through the end of the season, she more yellow and red cards (3) than she did goals (2). Again, I hope she proves me wrong today. Again, I hope she goes to Arsenal and makes me start using HE again. But right now? No. Hell no. I find it amazingly dependent of Low to have this diva bitch starting instead of Reus, Gotze or even Schurrle.......... For a third time, I hope she proves me wrong. But I'm not feeling it.
I think Poldi had 3 goals and 3 assists in 10 games for euro qf...not quite tearing the international scene but he was not that bad...his goal scoring record and his overall play in tournies cannot be disregarded even Reus Schurle (who i am not a big fan of) or Goetze are in better form....arguably Goetze is more of a question mark yes..I understand that he is a diva...a big ********ing diva in KOLN...what else did you expect?....he basically has had his ass kissed from the beginning it's going to be interesting how his approach will be in london...playing foreign country for the first time...french coach...if RVP stays...he will be second class at the start
I believe she had four goals in all of qualifying. But guess what? THREE OF THEM came in 2010! They came against Kazakhstan, Azerbijan and Austria. She scored ONE GOAL in 12 appearances with the national eam in 2011. That was in the 6-2 drubbing of Austria. Schurrle and Gotze scored in that match too.... With all the shit she pulled against Sahin in the BL, what did she do against Turkey, who was the best team Germany faced in Euro qualification? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! She was absolute CRAP in both matches. She appeared in friendlies Germany played against Poland, Ukraine and the Netherlands. She did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! That's all true. It's all there to see. But she gets to play because she kicked ass against Azerbijan in 2010?? Again, I hope she proves me wrong. But come on man. Really?? Disagree man. I believe this is an individual thing. Case in point. Miro Klose had his ass kissed left and right once he broke through at Kaiserslautern. Klose could do whatever he wanted around there. But Klose never let that shit go to his head. Klose kept his head down, worked his ass off and made himself the player he's become. A player like the Princess has all the talent in the world, but refuses to work to refine it. She let the ass-kissing go directly to her head. Unlike Klose. What's worse is one would think that after the debacle that was her time at Bayern, she would have learned something. Nope. She went home, got worse and played a major role in the downfall of that club. Again. This is certainly something I can blame "her" for.......... She'd better find her testicles again and fast. If she goes to London acting like she did in Munich, not only will she find herself permanently on the bench, she'll probably get her ass kicked too.........
I'm actually laughing out loud reading this. Your continuous use of the feminine pronoun for Podolski in a long post is hilarious.
Podolski really hasn't shown much in these 2 games..I would love to see Reus start ahead of Podolski..
Kicker ratings from yesterday's match. Gomez top. Badstuber and the Princess worst. And I think they're being nice with the Princess's rating. I would have given her a 4.5. The play I most remember from her is getting in Schwein's way and costing Germany a goal chance. Come on Jogi! Enough is enough! Get Goetze or Schurrle in there!!! +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Neuer (1,5) - Boateng (2), Hummels (3) , Badstuber (3,5), Lahm (2) - Khedira (2,5) , Schweinsteiger (1,5) - T. Müller (3), Özil (2,5), Podolski (3,5) - Gomez (1)
So people, WHO HAVE YOU GOT??? +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ EURO 2012 QUARTERFINALS Thursday, June 21st: Czech Republic v Portugal Friday, June 22nd: Germany v Greece Saturday, June 23rd: Spain v France Sunday, June 24th: England v Italy +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I've got Portugal, Germany, Spain and England!
I have Portugal, Germany, Spain and England as well. I think Portugal will knock Spain out in the semifinals.
