I realise it may seem harsh but if you can tell me a way to distinguish between a "genuine" newbie and a tout then I'm all ears

How to distinguish a "genuine" member and a tout? Do you have "special" methods? How to become a member?

    Mr.Prawn,

can you open a special topic for ticket swap? Here I want to read about news and technical details about getting tickets and not to search among a lot of swaping offers. Not that I have anything against it, but I think you should create a topic only for swapping..

A good idea but I don't think the traffic on this thread justifies that yet. I'll keep an eye on it and if it becomes too busy then I'll implement the change you suggest.

Does anyone know what was the amount of tickets sold in the first (and only) sales phase?

All together there'll be 1.050.000 tickets available:
    • 33% of that amount (346.500) will be sold by uefa.com site,
    • 38% (399.000) go to national FAs,
    • 14% (147.000) to sponsors and
    • 15% (157.500) to Vip guests, Uefa personnel, city hosts, etc..
There must be somewhere info on how many tickets (from those 33%) have been sold up to date...

    Here:

    http://www.uefa.com/competitions/euro/organisation/kind=33554432/newsid=528630.html

    Massively oversubscribed
For the tournament's 31 matches, a total number of 8.7 million ticket requests were considered - with the number of requests far outweighing the number of tickets available for all these games. In total a third of the available finals tickets will be allocated by the lottery. All applicants will be notified before the end of April whether they were successful or not.

There are no additional sale phases!!!

Only possibility to get tickets in the future will be via the dedicated national associations.

In Germany the sale will start i mid of Jan (if I'm rigt... might be later)

Same for Switzerland and so on and so on

No official sale phase any more.
    (thats what I've been told)

What a pity that they still haven't published any explanation concerning so called waiting list they used to allocate some tickets few weeks ago...

And BTW, try to book any room Klagenfurt during EURO games. This is ridiculus to organise tournament in such a small city with such a small stadium.

I had a very hard time booking a hotel in Bern two weeks before the draw.
    Prices are ridiculous.

But i'm glad ik booked it BEFORE the draw, trying to book something now is next to impossible!

    Absolutely right.

And it's not easy to go by infrastructure.

I'm a member of the official Oranje supporters association, I was just informed we won't find out till january about ticket allocation and prices. Rumour has it that the Dutch FA gets 10,000 tickets per game. That means about 5,000 for the fans I reckon (the supporters association has almost 100,000 members). So it'll be luck of the draw again. Oh well, you get used to these things.
