^There's legit academic studies that say that yellow (and bright colours in general, up to white) is easier to pick out in your peripheral vision. That's why goalies a few years ago went through this trend of wearing fugly yellow shirts, because allegedly forwards are more likely to shoot at the yellow blur that around it. So it's easier to play passes to yellow. It explains Brazil.
Meh.It's the action on the footie field that counts. The italians did their little funny comics as well (with Luca Baloni) and that didn't do sh*t for them. It's supposed to be Torres on the right.
Anyone else feeling a break out game for Ramos? He's probably been Spain's most disappointing player so far (when looking at performance vs. potential), but I think he sheds that today and comes out strong.
I do not know whether it will be his breakout game, but if Spain wants to win tonight, he needs to step up.
Iniesta (who I rate very highly) has been shit so far too. I don't know if that's more significant than Ramos or not, but since he led the team in qualifying more than any other player I think it's a pretty big loss. I thought Ramos was at least acceptable last game, without him it helping with the double it would've been impossible to mark Toni out of the game.
Apart from set pieces, I hope Ramos focuses on locking down the back like he did last game rather than try to make everything happen offensively. Spain has more than enough firepower with Villa, Torres et al., I think he'd be more valuable trying to shut down Arshavin and Pavlyuchenko on the defensive side rather than leaving open counterattacking chances.
Agree on every point. Iniesta needs to be put where he does the most damage, attacking mid. That would mean you would have to wait until second half to make a substitution xavi for cazorla and move iniesta in the middle
lmao @ the radio commentary.. Zhirkov goes at Ramos, Ramos wins the ball, complicates the situation "Que Viva Ramos, Ramos!.. Eh Cuidado.. Cuidado.."
