Dr Gilberto Madil says that if Portugal does well in Euro he would like to keep Scolori as the Coach. Scolori makes $150,000 us per month I wonder if Benfica will pay him that.

Scolori is frustrated with Ronoldo because he feels that he shows off too much. Scolori says that Ronoldo has great quality but does not need to show off all the time.

    PEACE

While Scolari is frustrated with Ronaldo, many fans are frustrated with Scolari.

Fernando Couto had a decent yet quiet game today, but I was under the impression that Mr.Scolari was brought in to give us a fighting spirit with a focus on positional responsibility.

Today we played against mere amatuers and we could/should have been punished on 4 or 5 occasions. Had the opposition been any stiffer or more competent we would have got emabarassed defensively. This insistance on Couto is fine if he is going to impose himself as Master and Commander of the defense, but if we keep on allowing these "lapses of concentration", we will surely bow out of the Euro early!

I for one am frustrated at the absolute lack of playing time for carvalho and Andrade as a central defensive duo. We saw both wide defencemen get caught out today on several occasions and I beleive this is something that has not been rectified despite it being a long persisting problem.

Aside from our defensive problems, I think Tiago is a weak spot. He has not been threatening at all going forward, and unfortunately Maniche was no better today. Let's hope they can sort it out.

Ronaldo was a live wire when he came on but he does tend to over do it sometimes but that's part and parcel of what makes him special. Yes he will lose the ball sometimes due to immaturity but when it comes off NO ONE in the world can stop him and this may very well be our Key to success!

Simao is playing well in a conservative kind of way, but I fear he is to orthodox to do any serious damage, Ronaldo is a more dynamic choice for the left.

Anyway, at least today we saw some nice passing like we used to do and we seemed to have our shooting boots on! Hopefully, the next match will set things straight.

    PEACE

I think Simao was the best player yesterday. Nuno Gomes, Rui Costa, and Figo played really well in the 1st half. Cristiano Ronaldo isn't ready to start. The team played well in the 1st half. The two most important players for Portugal are Rui Costa and Figo. These two have to play great for Portugal to win the entire tournament. They are world-class players!

The Full team is now in camp as Pedro Pauleta has arrived in Portugal today. The Doctor says that only Nuno Valente has a slight knock but should be ok in 2 to 3 days.

Portugal got back to Training today. Figo was just awesome in practice today. and seems to be coming with a purpose. Deco says that they have to make it to the quarterfinals.

    Hi Lads,

Which players do you think the manager will pick to make up the 4-man Portugal defence for the Euro 2004?

Scolari will most probably pick: Ferreira, Couto, Andrade, Rui Jorge

I would play: Ferreira, Carvalho, Andrade, Valente

I would also go with Ferreira/Andrade/Carvhello/Valente.

Also Deco must start. There are so many attacking midfielders its unreal.
    Costinha
    Mine would be Figo/Deco/Rui Costa/Simao

with Pauleta up front on his own.

    by the way, today's game

Pauleta scored 3 for the winning team, Postiga scored 2 for the losing team
    final score 3-2

    Euro 2004
