I think we can get two goals.

Whether Poland will score zero, one or two I wouldn't dare to guess at the moment.

Although you can never tell, I think it will be a comfortable 2-0 win with us controlling most of the game. That's as long as Fritz doesn't play :(

    Gomez and Ballack to score.

That's what I tend to believe as well, but in defence we might turn out to look dreadful still.

I think the CB's will have their act together on sunday. I'm confident we will control the game, I just hope that the ball bouces our way and the ball goes in the net when it should.

I'd be happy with that starting line-up.

That's the team I had picked and thought Loew would start.

the tension is killing me. I predict a 1-0 game in our favor. I think it will be a very nervous and cagey game. Gomez with the goal.

I still have a feeling we will see Podolski on the opposite side of Schweinsteiger. If not against Poland, definitely soon thereafter. Loew has hinted around it plenty.

We may even see Podolski on the left, Boro on the right, and Schweini on the bench.

This Welt article seems to bring some light into Löw's plans.

    - Seriously looks like Schweinsteiger might be benched and come in only at later stages of the tournament. Equilibrium, your take on this? ;)
    - Seriously looks like Podolski takes over at left midfield.
    - Odonkor no right wing starter option
    - Borowski might be used already against Poland (on the wing, obviously), but fitness state uncertain. "Will be needed in the tournament".
    - Fritz still a right midfield option (gah!)

But maybe Löw is just trying to confuse Beenhakker...

Edit: One more bit: Löw says Metzelder "is making progress", so he's still far from certain as a starter. And apparently Löw is as relaxed as ever with regards to everything...

Metzelder gives the defence the best chance to do well. That is not a knock on Arne Friedrich, but still a fact. But Metzelder needs to be 100% and on form. We shall see.

Schweinsteiger can't play surely. Maybe bring him on later when their is no pressure. Borowski is a solid replacement. Podolski should be in the mix somewhere, but Gomez and Klose should lead the attack. Can't wait for the game.

I am slowly but surely getting really nervous about this game. Please someone reassure me we are going to do well and win. Or don't do well but still win.

I thought it was Klose and Gomez upfront and Poldi in midfield?

Not that this duo would be a bad idea but I was looking forward to Löw leaving Schweini out of the starting 11 in favour for Poldi. Damn!

BZ-berlin is like Bild and Express. Not a serious paper. So far I have not read anything official so I don't know if what they wrote is true.

Any chance we play with 4-3-3, with Poldi and Klose as supporting strikers?

While our MF compromises Schweni, Frings, and Ballack.

I personally wants to see Schweni in the bench, but I doubt it will happen.

I do not dislike that formation at all. I would feel better about it though if I would feel better about the back 4 and Lehmann.

Löw has clearly said they will play 4-4-2.

1-0 with an 80th minute goal by subbing in Schweini:D

i would laugh my ass off if that really happened

in all seriousness i expect this to be a tough game i hope we win though just so that Polish news paper feels like crap:)

That formation would leave the midfield slightly empty.:)

I cannot wait for this game. Over the years I've watched a few Germany NT games like WC 02/06 since I was of German decent. But now I'm watching every dingle friendly and love to talk with other Germans that support their countries team.

Unfortunately I have to miss this game because of graduation, but hopefully I can view the rest of the group stage games.
