Re: Eddie Johnson III: Fulham or bust. How did I get credit for this thread? If I am getting credit, I want it to be called "Grown Aris Man" dangit.
Re: Eureka! Eddie Johnson is on loan to Aris Thesseloniki I do like the Archimedes reference. Edit: That is, I did like it. Though Grown Aris Man is also nice
Re: Eureka! Eddie Johnson is on loan to Aris Thesseloniki Okay, I changed it. Almost made it "groan" instead of "grown" though, in honor of the pun. Thanks. It's nice that somebody notices when you try to throw a little class around the joint.
Re: Eddie Johnson III: Fulham or bust. Jokes? You want jokes? Eddie is heading to Aris so he can Greece up his Johnson. OK, it was funnier in my head.
Re: Eureka! Eddie Johnson is on loan to Aris Thesseloniki Eureka! I'm a Grown Aris Man: The Eddie Johnson Story It's the greatest title compromise ever.
Re: Eureka! Eddie Johnson is on loan to Aris Thesseloniki Done. Who says you can't step twice into the same river?
Re: Eureka! Eddie Johnson is on loan to Aris Thesseloniki Did someone say Archimedes reference? [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ur5fGSBsfq8"]YouTube- monty python football[/ame] Clearly EJ will have the opportunity to learn a few things while he's in Greece. I hope he does well.
Re: Eureka! I'm a Grown Aris Man: The Eddie Johnson Story This is pretty damning, from the Okaka/Fulham loan article on Soccernet "Okaka has got quality and the fact it's a loan is also advantageous because he's a young player and largely untried. We're happy with our striking options but we would like to have some cover and someone who can put pressure on the guys we have. Okaka seems to be that type of player but a lot of water must pass under the bridge before he pulls on a Fulham shirt.'' And in related news, we just loaned out Eddie Johnson, basically because he sucks. Hopefully, GAM finds his way in Greece...
Re: Eddie Johnson III: Fulham or bust. So apparently I was wrong. Last chance though. No more excuses. Either he does well in Greece or he simply won't succeed in Europe.
Re: Eddie Johnson III: Fulham or bust. True. As much sh!t as I've talked about EJ, I do believe he has improved enough and found his level in the Greek Super Liga. I think he'll do well and score goals.
Re: Eddie Johnson III: Fulham or bust. Ives is reporting that the team may make a move for Adu! http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_by_ives/2009/12/johnson-heading-to-greece-on-loan.html#comments
Re: Eureka! I'm a Grown Aris Man: The Eddie Johnson Story Is Aris the team that Clint Mathis signed with a couple of years back?
Re: Eureka! I'm a Grown Aris Man: The Eddie Johnson Story Nope, that was Ergotelis in Crete. Aris is in Thessaly as far as I can tell. EDIT: They're actually as far as two club in Greece could be, I think.
Re: Eureka! I'm a Grown Aris Man: The Eddie Johnson Story For those who don't know (or don't remember), Cuper was the manager of those fantastic Valencia teams from the turn of the century. He also had a good spell with Inter, but has had some bad luck in the second half of the decade. This is a reclamation project for him as well as for Eddie (and potentially Freddy). Anyone who shows well in practice will play, period. No politics here, just a guy trying to win as many games as possible and get back into the limelight.
Re: Eureka! I'm a Grown Aris Man: The Eddie Johnson Story Oh whatever. Eddie is not premiership quality. Never was. So what?
Re: Eureka! I'm a Grown Aris Man: The Eddie Johnson Story He needs to make a move that will REALLY help his career. Like to fullback..... See Sanneh, Tony.
US forward Eddie Johnson loaned to Greece’s Aris http://sports.yahoo.com/soccer/news?slug=ap-fulham-johnsonloaned&prov=ap&type=lgns Does he have a shot at WC if he gets PT?
Re: US forward Eddie Johnson loaned to Greece’s Aris More than he does sitting in the Fulham reserves.
Re: Eureka! I'm a Grown Aris Man: The Eddie Johnson Story Hopefully he can finally grab a little luck (and in turn a quick start). Didn't he hit a post in one of the initial appearances with Fulham? Sometimes I wonder if things would've been any different for him had he bagged that one... ...maybe not.
Re: US forward Eddie Johnson loaned to Greece’s Aris Playing time puts him in competition for the spot with guys like Cooper, Cunningham, Findley, Tracy, etc. None of those options jump out at you as ready to defeat the Spains and Brazils of the world, so no reason to dislike Johnson any more than the rest of the options.
Re: Eureka! I'm a Grown Aris Man: The Eddie Johnson Story He schooled the boots out of one of the Blackburn defenders on a 1 vs 1 situation with a step-over and than within a instant later fired a bullet off Friedels post,..signaling his Arrival that he was the Grown Ass Man in the building(As expected). And then a whole bunch of nothing, soon followed because of it.
