Galaxy says Ethan Zohn will be joining Joe and Rick to broadcast Saturday's game on KCAL.

    Be still my beating heart.

    Why?

Sideline reporters are of minimal value in what they add to a telecast, but if you have to go with one, why not either

    1. a professional sportscaster; or

    2. harmless eye candy

(unless they think he falls into catagory 2)

From what I read, Zohn will be in the booth, not on the sideline.
This smells of ESPN/MLS requesting Zohn join the booth to give him a "tryout". Let's keep our eyes and ears open on this one. Zohn might be working MLS games inthe near future. I'd like to see his work. He appears very knowledgable and polished. We shall see.

Maybe he could be better than Rick Davis or Joe Tutino. He could replace both!

He seemed kind of giddy at first, but as far as doing what a sideline reporter is supposed to do, he was better than Veronica Paysee. He didn't pronounce Peter's name right and he let Galactic Warlord ramble on too long, but he was okay.

Wonder if he like the ambiance of the G's supporters section.

He did. In the post-game radio show he couldn't have been more pumped describing the electricity in the supporters section. Looked like it worked out well having LARS and Galaxians adjacent tonight.

    Live perspective of things.

Interesting seeing him at the game. After making the rounds and his essays on US Soccer he commands a lot more credibility to the game whether you agree or disagree with him. I would take him over Jenna any day.

As a refresher she was at the Rose Bowl on July 4 covering the game for the Quakes. She makes Veronica Paysse look like a scholar.

If Zohn could hang out with the Supporter's before the game and try to catch them during a break, he would enjoy the ambience. Some female reporters (Jenna and several others included) would feel very intimidated in such an athmosphere. He's been everywhere and has a knack for the game so I'll give him a chance.

(again, speaking from a live perspective instead of the television view...)

    Cheers!

You have Jenna Jameson as sideline reporter? Nice! :D Forget this Zohn guy, let's get a Playmate to do our sideline reporting! LOL. I think Zohn did okay and it was very cool of him to actually stand in the crowd, probably to give an idea of the energy of the supporters.
