https://www.nottinghampost.com/spor...ttingham-forest-player-ratings-wolves-5826084 Nottingham Forest v Wolves player ratings - Horvath and Back impress on tough night In the opening 45 minutes, the visitors had 74 percent possession and 13 shots at goal, compared to the Reds’ one, with goalkeeper Ethan Horvath doing his best to keep his team in contention at the break. [...] Ethan Horvath: A busy evening for the American, but will have given Chris Hughton food for thought despite the scoreline. Kept his team in it up until the hour mark, with some good saves. Rating: 7/10
The kid is showing he has earned the no.1 spot. The only question is whether this weekend or when the international break ends in September.
Check out the footage. That game should have been 7-0 or 8-0. It looked like a ringer premiership keeper having a killer game while playing for a pub league team against professionals.
Have you seen the alternative? There are 2-3 clips posted here over the last 10 days. Take a look at them. Ethan had, shall we say, some confidence issues at Brugge 2-3 seasons ago, really struggling to command his area and often lacking the confidence of his defence, but his shot-stopping never deserted him, even at his worst. Samba doesn't even have that any more. A good GK would have saved Forest 2 points in the last 2 games, probably 4 IMO. In the relegation zone, off-bottom only on goal difference, the fans are turning mutinous. If the coach doesn't do something, fast, he could be out of a job as early as Monday.
Here is one thing I have learn. Horvath won't dive for the ball if a teammate is supposed to have that area covered. hence one goal in this video and the late dive on the 2nd goal in the NL game. Now, Turner will dive no matter if a teammate is covering the area. example, the dive he did when Funes Mori headed the ball that went by Zardes head for the possible score. I believe Turner is the better shot-stopper.
0-0-5 on the season, down 0-1 to derby at the break. i guess the manager is going to lose his job before bamba does.
Watched the second half - saw one important save, heavily helped by his CB, and no mistakes. A fine half. And the team finally have a point.

Brice Samba: Two poor goals conceded. The Reds keeper should have done better with the cross for the first. Did make some decent saves, but also looked shaky. Rating: 4/10
They lost. Again. Houghton's days are numbered. Maybe, just maybe, the new coach will finally bench Samba
Samba's play is going to bench Samba. Ethan should start the next league home game if Houghton wants a chance in hell to save his job.
Well, he is Irish from his mother, which means that if he takes pleasure in something it's a sin, so . . .
The second one would have required an outstanding save, but on the first he has to be blamed, because he never reacts to a slow bouncing ball (thru traffic). I'll worry if he's not starting next game. This will be the first one post transfer deadline, where Ethan's not coming off int'l duty. So it would actually demonstrate Samba was perceived as their #1. And he's not somehow unseated himself.
