I hope Ethans next step is a permanent move to a larger Championship club or maybe the Old Firm (Celtic or Rangers).

Luton has been good for him but they are a very small club punching well above their weight, I’m not sure they could afford a transfer fee or how much I believe in the clubs long term prospects.

Brentford. They would be an incredible landing spot and that are just down the road. Their highly rated GK David Raya is being eyed, reportedly, by Chelsea, Spurs, and Man U. He has turned down two new and improved contract offers from Brentford. I think he has one foot out the door. Thomas Frank, I think, is a helluva Manager. The last few days I’ve thought either Turner (on loan) or Horvath would be good options for Brentford.

I don’t think he gets a starting job in the Prem straight from this Luton spell.

That’s why Turner’s name popped into my head as well. He seemed more likely of the two.

I'd be surprised at that as well.

I think if Steffen, Horvath or Turner are ever going to make it as starters in the Prem it going to have to come off the back of multiple excellent championship seasons and promotion with their club or multiple excellent championships seasons and some smaller EPL club going after them.

Doing well at a high level on the continent is another route but I doubt any of them want to leave England or their English wages.

There's only 20 EPL starting GK jobs and as the wealthy of the EPL grows and grows, those jobs are getting very difficult to obtain.

They still have some time, Friedel didn't really start his excellent EPL career until 30 but they had better start being consistently excellent Championship players.

They probably can't afford much of a transfer fee, but Ethan is out of contract in 18 months and is said to be on close to 900k sterling a year. Even if he's surplus to requirements at Forest, that gives him a degree of control during the close season.

Plenty of scouts and analysts will have been paying very close attention to his performances this season for a club with very little money, so he'll have offers but if he doesn't see a route to first-choice status in August, he can always say no right up to deadline day. In that situation, it's entirely possible that Forest would agree to the usual payoff - 50% of what's due, which is likely to be in the 450-500k sterling range - and either release Ethan or sell him to anyone willing to pay them that amount. Luton may be a small club, but they could afford that without too much trouble.

Could he end up as a no.2 for a promoted PL side/midtable PL side or is his best chance at another top Championship club as a starter?

Luton has a decent shot at promotion. So that's his best chance.

Seems like a big missed opportunity for three points - went up a man at 50’, scored, but then conceded a late PK.

He hasn't conceded a non-penalty league goal since January 14.

    The streak continues.

1-0 final, still 6th, level with Millwall on points and goal difference, behind on goals scored by 1.

Guess who Luton hosts on Tuesday?

Huge match later today as Luton hosts Millwall. 5th vs 6th. Tied on points, tied on goal differential. Millwall, I assume, are one spot ahead based on wins, 15 wins to Luton’s to 14. The last four league meetings at Kenilworth between the two sides has ended as a draw. The match will be shown on ESPN+ at 3pm EST.

Goals scored, wins are the 4th tiebreaker after goal difference, goals scored, and head-to-head.

Horvath had an ugly howler on Millwall's opening goal.
