    It's not about being a professional, but being registered with a club/FA.

    International transfers of players are only permitted if the player is over the age of 18.

    2. The following five exceptions to this rule apply: a) The player’s parents move to the country in which the new club is located for reasons not linked to football.

    Generally, FIFA has limited these moves when the parents move independently of the club first . We've seen cases where the move was disallowed because the parent received an offer after the player had already been offered a spot. That he says the club contacted them and suggested the move and then employed the parents directly in roles that would not generally be a draw for a qualified professional coach to move internationally.

    This exact kind of move is usually pretty suspect.

    I understand, but it seems that the family moved to Norvay just a few months before Ethan's 18th birthday.
    For sure they could have delayed the registration till June.There was something else that forced the parents work as janitors for 2 years after the arival. But anyway, congratulations to them, their sacrifises paid off.

    Gotta say Norway (maybe Switzerland, Qatar, Monaco) are the only places where a middle-class American(s) would be expected to be a janitor at a football ground.

    His story really packs a punch!

    His dad, I learn from this, was coach at Columbine High School when the mass shooting occurred

    Sounds like he was in goal for a scoreless friendly against Arsenal:

    We Are Luton Town
    @wearelutontown

    Great to see Dan Potts and Woodrow back from injury too.

    Town: Horvath, Bree, Potts (Bell), Lockyer, Morris (Woodrow), Adebayo (Jerome), Clark (Berry), Watson (Mpanzu), Freeman (Campbell), Osho, Doughty (Cornick)

    This makes 3 games on the trot where the caretaker manager and the new coach have made him 1st-choice, ahead of the other 3 GKs, most notably ex-Arsenal depth GK Macey who was the starter for Hibernian in the SPL.

    For the first time in 5 seasons he's the undisputed first-choice with a platform to show his abilities. Let's see what the summer brings: he won't/mustn't go back to being Forest's backup.

    Starts @ QPR

    The Championship table remains incredibly congested. 12 teams have from 32-35 points. Host QPR is joint-5th on 35 points; visiting Luton Town is joint-11th on 33 points.

    Big win for Luton Town today and a clean sheet for Mr. Horvath. QPR had 8 shots, 6 corners, 70% possession, while Luton had all the goals, lol.

    LT in 8th place same points as 7 & 6 the place & they have a game in hand vs the teams above them. A win tomorrow vs Huddersfield would put them in 3rd place.

    Happy New Year! Horvath starts at Holmes’ Huddersfield, in a tale of two towns - LT near the top and HT near the bottom of the table.

    Hopefully he just continues with Luton Town though I gotta figure Henderson isn't staying when they're relegated and Horvath's wages were too high to be a backup.

    Huddersfield 1-2 Luton Town

    Holmes scored at 25’ to give his team the lead, but Horvath gets the win - LT now up to a tie for 4th place in the table.

    They probably are. Then again, you'd have to say the same about Wayne Hennessey's wages and Forest took the precaution of offering him a deal until June 2024. That suggests that they saw Hennessey as a possible starter in the event of a relegation and not Ethan.

    Ended 1-1, so on to a replay:

    Luton Town FC
    @LutonTown

    And breathe...

    Brilliant save from Horvath to deny Naylor, then Wigan have the ball in the net but it's ruled out!

    1-1 (90+4)

    Why'd Horvath play instead of their no.2 at the club?

    Because they’re in it to win it!

    Edit: Good question.
