Het Nieuwsblad has reported that Club Brugge will ultimately not re-sign #USMNT goalkeeper Ethan Horvath this summer. Horvath played in only four matches this season and could see plenty of teams calling for his services.

After the last 2 seasons, did anybody think Ethan was planning to extend?

I haven't seen any news about Horvath. Apart from the ceo announcing that he would probably be leaving the club, that was in March if I remember well.

I think the club would offer a new contract, but it is obvious he needs and wants to play, so why bother.

From the tweet in question, I understood Brugge to be saying "just to confirm what everyone already knows, since Ethan wants PT and we can't give it to him, we won't be offering him a new contract, sparing him the bother of rejecting it and ourselves the awkwardness of being rejected."

 

Starting V. Switz it has been reported.

 

A big opportunity for him. Hopefully he can replicate his form vs Italy a few years ago.

 

I hope today's performance vs Swiss helps him out with a move.

I thought some mid-table on down top 5 clubs would have been foolish not to sign him on a free before this week. Now they definitely will try.

 

Hopefully he lands somewhere he can compete for the starting spot. His time at Brugge was truly unfortunate.
