There is interest. It's just that a GK being such a specialist position, there are a lot fewer vacancies and therefore less to speculate about. For a guy in his position - young, too good to stay as his club's #2 but with his path blocked - the offers will come in after interested clubs have cleared GK slots on their rosters, which is a slow process at the best of times and these aren't the best of times. A lot of guys who were really frustrated at a lack of PT and have a year on their contracts would have been agitating for a move, confident that they'd get the same/nearly the same money. That's not the case now.

Horvath started and went 60 minutes in a friendly against Denize on Wednesday.

"Club Brugge goalkeeper Horvath had little to do in that first half, apart from a couple of long-range efforts from Deinze."

Mignolet went the distance in their previous friendly against Gent last Saturday.

    They play Lille this Saturday.

They're losing to Antwerp too, thanks to a counter at 25' that left Mignolet facing two players. 0-1 at the 80' mark now.

his former rival, Letica, finished his Serie A loan with 10 games and 29 allowed goals.

    btw

Club Brugge is looking for reinforcements these days. For example, the national champion is working on a new goalkeeper. Someone who can accept the role of reserve goalkeeper behind Simon Mignolet.

Club Brugge aims for an experienced goalkeeper and looks around in their own country. Kenny Steppe (31), for example, is an interesting option for blue-black.

Steppe recently enjoyed interest from Anderlecht, but could also go to Club Brugge . If Ethan Horvath leaves, Steppe is already a serious candidate to replace the American.

Looks like Hovrath had a clean sheet?

The Belgian season kicked off yesterday.

To no one's surprise, Horvath was on the bench behind Mignolet.

Brugge lost 1-0 at home to Charleroi.

It's really strange that he hasn't gotten a move lined up yet.

He looked indecisive on that. Should have come out and pressured the ball.

    Why was Mingolet going backward?

Obviously the bigger gaffe was the give-away by the defender but the 'keeper got caught a 6's and 7s and was retreating when he probably should've been charging out to cut off the angle.

If he didn't retreat early then he would allow a chip shot. Tough decision to make. I hope one of the resident BS goalies give their opinion. Perhaps after getting to the 6 he should have then closed down space.

I played GK at an OK level growing up. I'm always in favor of the GK charging out in order to make the forward beat the GK with a dribbling move, instead of giving the forward time to pick out a corner. The risk is that you foul the forward and receive a red card in addition to the penalty, but that's usually only if you make a bad tackle.

Eh I dont see much wrong from Mignolet here. The first thing he has to do when the ball is given away is get back to the goal to make sure he is properly positioned and by the time he’s done that there is only a second or two before the strike and the defenders are closing in.

i concur. Horvath has had such poor luck. I have to wonder who he was in a past life. He should easily have options at other top teams in Belgium or 2 Bundesliga or the Championship

I wish I was unlucky enough to be a professional soccer player in Europe. And to be 6’4” for that matter.

I hear you on that. I always always always get the moron who feels the need to recline his seat immediately upon takeoff until landing right in front of me as well.

Most would rather play than ride the bench. No need to be 6'4. You can always overcompensate with a huge truck.
