Is Mignolet really that much better than Horvath? I get that he was 'pool, but there must have been a reason they got Allison.
Mignolet wasn't the world-class keeper that my Reds needed but he was a decent stop-gap. I'm sure he could start for quite a few mid-table clubs in the PL. He's by far the best keeper in Belgium though he seems a luxury transfer that the club didn't necessarily need to get. But I guess it's the prestige of having the Belgian No.2 as their No.1
Starts (in friendly): Club start in Doha met de volgende XI:Horvath - Vlietinck, Van Der Brempt, Mitrovic, Ricca, De Cuyper - Rits, Cools, De Ketelaere - Vossen, Openda #PSVCLU #MissionQatar— Club Brugge KV (@ClubBrugge) January 9, 2020
And this was they guy remember that Leko got money under the table to bring in that was the 2nd time they f...ked Ethan over. GM Vincent allowed this to happen !
Brugge won 2-1. Their second goal was a beaut. Horvath didn't seem to have a ton to do (judging only on twitter feed and highlights) but covers a lot of goal and PSV shot wide more than one.
No chance on PSV goal close range shot & was screened.....watched while game footwork with ball was good and distribution was excellent
His former rival at Brugge. I sure hope his agent contacts Feyenoord. https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2020...pursuing-feyenoord-goalkeeper-kenneth-vermeer
We have a nr 1 goalie, only problem he was injured and now coming back. So that doesnot sound like a good option for ethan. Probably the reason Vermeer is open to options.
He is not better than Horvath other than more experience but as far as skill goes Horvath is overall better in positioning and technique. Just bad timing for Horvath. He will find success.
There were two reasons they got Allison: he's a much more complete GK than Mignolet (a sweeper-keeper who's a pretty good shot-stopper as well versus an old-school shot-stopper) with better positioning and handling, quicker and more varied distribution, and is an effective sweeper when Liverpool are pressing high up. He's also much more consistent than Mignolet and very reliable shot-stopper, with the highest save % in the EPL this season (84% IIRC).
Iforgot about that. Weak wrists cost 'pool in the title match against Real Madrid. The fans would have never forgiven him for that had management decided to keep him.
Brugge silent they want to keep him as they know they have strong #2 as they head into run up to trying to win league and competing in Europa League. Another team has stepped forward with interest to being Ethan in as #1. Unfortunately the business side of the game.
If Brugge wins the title and the cup and EL, would Ethan qualify for a medal (if he plays no more matches)?
Weak brain more than weak wrists since he played the entire game concussed. Klopp should take a lot more heat for that decision than he does.
Nobody else did either. Not until the Liverpool medical staff sent him to hospital for scans a week later. You can't really blame Klopp for that, but you can definitely blame Sergio Ramos - and the referee. Two yellow card fouls - arguably red card fouls - take key Liverpool players out of the game. Karius isn't concussed and Salah has two good shoulders and it's a very different game. He's been doing that all his career and the referee should have been wise to it. In some ways it's hard to blame Ramos. If he keeps getting away with it, why should he stop?
League medal, almost certainly. Otherwise second choice GKs would never get any medals. Different rules for different Cup competitions in different countries, so who knows about the Belgian Cup. As for the EL, are you seriously suggesting that Brugge are going to win that one?
