I feel it's overstated with keepers being like an Ederson or Neuer. Sure at teams in the Champions League but relegation bait teams (which our boys found a home at) can't afford that kinda caliber elite keeper or playing style.

My tracker has Mignolet starting today @ Anderlecht, though of course the tracker could be wrong. {I'm never wrong.}
Team news ready! 🤩 #AndClu pic.twitter.com/d6ESc1eKYX— Club Brugge KV (@ClubBrugge) December 19, 2019 Horvath can't even get in for a ********ing cup match smh
Cup tie or not, it's Brugge against Anderlecht. That's the Belgian Classico and the coach is gonna pick his strongest side. That's football. Fairness has zip to do with it. He can submit a transfer request - and should IMO - but if he goes Brugge's only other GK is an 18 year old promoted from the reserves/youth system. They would be negligent to let that happen until they've got someone else in who's in the same class as Ethan, and good players don't tend to become available in the winter windows. Unless they pick up someone from Scandinavia or MLS (paging Bill Hamid ) who's moving abroad, I'm afraid he'll be there until June.
Probably doesn't matter. The club paid so much for Mignolet and his wages are so high. If he's healthy, he's starting.
Wasn't Howard's peak from 06-2010? He was among the top keepers in the PL. Maybe not top 3/4 but certainly top 6. I haven't followed Schmeichel so much and he's been pretty damn good but he hasn't put up the numbers that Howard has. Schmeichel spent most of his careeer in the Championship until 5 years ago.
Deal in the works...working out financial terms....top team in their league that has chance to be in Champions League and set him up for 1-2 seasons before move to top league....they rate him as top talent but undervalued due to Brugge mishandling him. They will still need to pay Brugge fee similar to what Brugge paid for him as long as they don’t try to get greedy.
Hoping Brugge realizes they need to let Ethan move on as Mignolet has a 5 year deal. But no trust in Brugge based on past actions stay tuned
He does not have another passport only US. What he hopes for is Brexit as that will change things making it easier.
Seeing him in Portugal would be fun too. I'm not familiar with Benfica/Porto/Sporting Lisbon but gotta figure he could challenge for no.1
The move will be logical nothing too crazy....as what he needs is place that knows his value & believes in him, wants to play him as #1 and develop him to sell him in 1-2 years and has steady coach & ownership.
