I see 2-0, Luton Town ahead on aggregate.

Gooch now gets all the way upfield and finds Diallo with a cross from the corner - Diallo makes mediocre contact that sends it bouncing beyond the top corner, though Horvath probably had it covered if it was on frame.

    Halftime, 3-2 aggregate to Luton.

Luton must be favorite to earn promotion at this point. This depleted Sunderland controlled the game for about 10 minutes, after that lost the midfield.

Very fun game, lots of pressing, lots of 1 on 1 duels, lots of running, not much tactics. Basically the opposite of a Serie A game.

Sunderland nearly concede a third immediately after the restart. Luton look miles ahead of them.

Sunderland bring on ... a defender for an attacking midfielder. Presumably this shifts Gooch to a LWB spot that gets forward much more, but I guess we'll see.

Gooch actually now on the right, and Roberts moves upfield as befits his #10 shirt.

Gooch takes a whack, but I don't think they have any choice but for him to walk it off.

Sunderland AFC were probably cooked when Ross Stewart went down.

Still a really promising season for Sunderland AFC and I'm happy for the Club/fan base/town.

Gooch off in the 77th minute. Looked pretty tired recently.

All in all not a bad shift for Gooch, but S'land is in big trouble, lacking anyone who can score.

Sunderland can't even get the ball into their attacking half, much less near the goal.

Counterattack while the keeper was upfield for a corner, 3 v 1 without a keeper for Luton ... and Drama shoots weakly wide. It was both wide but so slow that Roberts, the only Sunderland player not to give up, probably would have cleared it. Unreal.

Horvath catches a cross for what might be the last play, then draws a yellow against a Sunderland player for misbehavior while he held the ball.

Full time and Ethan goes to Wembley. One save, but that one save winds up making a huge difference.

Five shots on goal total, 3 Luton, 2 Sunderland. No wonder the narrators were excited.

Luton are dominating. Up 1 now, could/should be 2. Horvath frankly has had nothing to do. Got to stay ready for the limited chances the other way, otherwise he'd be the (scape)goat.

Luton Town v Coventry City... surely Coventry have a massively unfair advantage as they are a city while Luton is just a town....

Almost a disaster from Ethan there. Back pass to him from a CB,he dawdles coming to play it and a Coventry striker manages to get his foot on Ethan's pass...fortunately for Luton it went out for a goal kick and didn't manage to find it's way into the net.

Another scary moment involving Horvath and one of his CB's. Ethan's decision making at times leaves a lot to be desired.

It's laughable to put that 2nd one on Ethan. The CB foolishly left it. Horvath had to come flying in at the end. All he could do is slide tackle that. Where it went is misfortune. One isn't rationally expecting him to try and dive on the ball and get badly concussed or handle it out the box.

The other one was shaky. Highlighting the 2nd is creating a narrative.

BS. Neither the CB nor Ethan covered themself in glory there. Ethan coming that far for a ball he shouldn't have put the CB in a tough spot.

Got beat low to to the corner. That was his chance to be the hero. He missed it. Not expected to save it. Got deflected too. Maybe that's why he didn't get down super quick. It was rerouted a little.

i think his obstructed vision played a part but man he did not cover a lot of width on that dive

Ethan down with an apparent hamstring injury, and looks like he'll be subbed off.

After a bit of a pause, it looks like Horvath will continue, though he's walking a bit gingerly.
