The match ended 1-1, in favor of nobody but the league leaders, Sepahan of Esfahan.

Esteghlal dominated in the first half and scored an early goal in the 2nd minute, thanks to Ali Samereh who cracked the mistake of Perspolise defenders wide open. Another good chance was when Momenzadeh tricked a PP defender with body movements (while the ball was away) and received a great pass. All he had to do was shot it in the goal as he was alone with the Perspolise goali, Davood Fanaei. However, that was not the case and he threw Esteghlal's second goal out of the window.

In the first 35 mins of the second half however, the game turned in the hands of Perspolise. They were attacking more and more and Aref Mohammadvand was the big force for them, setting up attacks and changing the field nicely. They had a extremely good chance which was a header by Entezari, which Hadi Tabatabaei (Esteghlal goali) deflected very nicely and to his luck his deflection hit the bar and went out.

Perspolise goal came in the 75 minute after a very suspicious penatly call by the Italian ref. Ansarian put the penalty way nicely after the Esteghlal defenders were calmed down by the rest of their team and stopped complaining to the ref. In the final 10 minutes Esteghlal revived itself, but its attacks went nowhere.

It could be said that Perspolise players played very violently in this game. There were many instances of very bad and stupid fouls on their side. The tally of yellow cards was Esteghlal: 3, Perspolise: 4

    Main players of the match=
    Esteghlal:
-Samereh: who scored the first goal and only goal and continued to attack and be a pain to PP defenders.
-Farhad Majidi: he was excellent on the right side and made some very nice plays.
-Pashazadeh: he is returning to his old form (before his injury) day by day. The former Leverkusen defender did very will to stop lots of Perspolise attacks.
-Hadi Tabatabei: Saved Esteghlals ass so many times...

    Perspolise:
-Aref Mohammadvand. That guy was the the gem/key/whatever that is valuable for Perspolise. He was behind all of their attacks and played extremely well. Big ups to him. I was pleased with his play.
-Afshin Peyrovani: He got Perspolise their penalty (on an extremely suspicious call) and he did good for their defense as well.
-Davood Fanaei: He did not crack after the early goal and infact look more and more confident sas the game progressed. His good goal keeping skills helped Perspolise from eating another...
