http://espn.go.com/espy2004/s/04malesoccernominees.html Weak, this is a joke. Who had a better year? 4th place and 3 goals or undefeated season and 30 goals? Dumb....
yeah, its US sports award show but still weak. Just show the vote was not based on play but on name recognition.
yeah, but i thought anyone could vote. i am still surprised ESPNews showed Euro 2004 highlights. I guess they wanted to justify paying Tommy Smyth to mention "the old onion bag" BTW phishy ESPN also shows MLS, you should subscribe
ya, but golf is a much better option.. and i'll only be in the states for a couple more weeks... i prefer sky sports to espn personally~
ESPN is good for college gridiron football and college basketball. I do enjoy watching Sky Sports' nightly report, Fox Sports World shows it nightly here in the USA. Sky has a good highlights package especially during football season on Saturdays.
Who doesn't? I'm just glad I've never heard Dave Clark or Dan Lobb utter the word "Booyah!" on my television screen.
I can picture Stephen A. Smith saying "Robbie Fowler is a CHUMP!" Bobby McMahon is entertaining on the Fox Sports World report. back to the ESPYs- I haven't watched since the first year. Jamie Foxx is hosting this year.
What a load of bollox. How much do you want to bet that Titi actually won, but didn't think it was worth going to LA for, and therefore, ESPN switched it to Beckham. BTW - Have you guys seen this? http://go.fark.com/cgi/fark/go.pl?I...?ViewItem&category=2887&item=3688276550&rd=1_
Geez, you all act surprised that Henry didn't win. Where is ESPN based again? Who does the US see as a dangerous enough enemy to change the name of one of its main obesity-causing agents? What the hell did y'all expect, the Frenchman or the man-bitch?
yeah, the bid got up to €10m so eBay had to make changes to prevent fraund. another link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3688276550
The 10m was a fraudulent bid, as you just pointed out. Here it is on soccernet: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/headlinenews?id=305081&cc=5901
So there are people who actually pay attention to, or care about, the ESPYs, other than ESPN employees? Who knew?
Oh of course, its the biggest night in sports. I swear to God if I hear the term "ESPN Era" again I'm gonna beat the crap outta someone...
Yeah, between that and Phish's last show, there's a lot I'm not going to that weekend. But, it's all for a good cause - gotta save those vacation days for the ArseAm road trip to Highbury!
I don't think it had anything to do with being French, just voters who never saw a game and only knew one name.
