Well up to now all the CL games on espn 2 here in the states are on Tuesdays. But now when we have Real Madrid-Bayern on Tuesday they decide to show freaking Chelsea-Stuggart on wed?! I like chelsea and stuggart but nothing is bigger in this round than real-bayern!

I'm so disappointed in the coverage of quality games in the states...

You should go on the espn dream job show and win so you can hold everyone in the building hostage and demand that they broadcast more soccer. That'll teach those monkies at espn.

What? a New Yorker complaining about not seeing the CL games? Besides the famous Nevada Smith, there are lots of pubs in New York having foreign DBS. Check out this link from BocaFan:

    https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?postid=2155854#post2155854

    The 2nd from last post:

Nevada's does have a Canadian system installed like many other pubs in New York. Nevada's is one of a kind in the sense that they are the best! But they're not one of a kind in the sense that there are plenty of other pubs that do some of their best business on weekend mornings and weekday Champions League match-days.

I mean, wait until you live in Idaho, Arkansas, Dakotas, etc.

Real Madrid vs Bayren Munich 2 hated teams no one to root for. Chelsea vs Stuttgart 1 hated team someone to root for. Hence its the game Id rather see I wanna see the big guy try to get knocked off.

Not everyone want to go to a pub to watch games. I'm already paying for cable at home so of course i would hope its covered and some people cant get away from work, school and other engagements to watch it live.

    Re: Re: Re: ESPN2 sucks!

There has NEVER been 6-8 CL games per matchday on cable in the U.S. so why would you have such a *hope* by subscribing to cable?

World Cup soccer? European Championship soccer? Premiership? Liga Mexicana? yes, I can understand. But did you subscribe to cable without knowing that CL was not extensively covered in the U.S.?

Just like would anyone subscribe to cable in the U.S. and hope that somehow he would see the Bulgarian professional basketball league.

Well ESPN2 is quite busy lately showing a ping-pong tournament (no joke), so "Nevada Smiths" is your only hope of seeing this game if you're busy during the day. I'm sure Nevada's will tape the game and if you show up before 6:30pm you can ask the bartender to run the tape (if he's not already doing so).

dude, ESPN would rather go with the World Spelling Bee Championship, the 1993 World Strongman Tourament, the World Series of Poker, two girls playing pool, NFL Films Presents some game from 1954, the 1985 NBA Finals, or last years National Cheerleading Championship from Toledo, Ohio rather than show a couple of good Champions League games. unbelievable.

Is there an ESPN email or phone number we can all complain about this problem? It's too much and I just can't handle it anymore.

I dont see any implication that he got cable solely for soccer. much less 6-8 cl games. contrary to many beliefs on these boards, there are other things in life and on tv besides soccer. shocking i know!

I dunno, but if you find one give them a blast!! The frustrating part is that ESPN prevents anyone else from showing the Champions League in the U.S.! If they're not showing it anyway, why don't they step aside and let a real, 21st century channel take-over the U.S. rights??

    Stupid buggers!!

If ESPN showed at least one game at every scheduled time on every matchday I have no doubt that most of you would still be complaining!

Do you work at ESPN? Did you just get a raise? Most people here wouldn't be complaining if ESPN could only broadcast the Real x Bayern game this week, OK!

You want as much soccer on TV here as they get in say England? Easy. Just get a few thousand people with Neilsen boxes (the ones they use to figure out TV ratings) to watch the game (or at least leave their TV on the channel) and ESPN will be happy to show multiple CL games per week, show highlights on SportsCenter, etc. Why? Because if soccer gets monster ratings than advertisers will spend money on it, thus making it profitable for ESPN.

Short of that, not much else will work. Well, maybe 50,000 weekly crowds at MLS games would work too.

ESPN Deportes is a new U.S. Spanish-language channel that a few people might actually get (but not many, at least not yet). I'll let everyone figure out ESPN Pacific Rim for themselves.

Phone calls and letters ain't gonna do it.

Direct TV customers: pls e-mail feedback@directv.com, and ask them to add ESPN Deportes. ESPN Deportes has all the CL games.

No so. He said he got cable already and he ***hoped*** that it (Bayern/Real) would be covered. There is no basis on such hope at all. I don't *hope* to subscribe to cable and somehow see Bulgarian basketball...

Among the pay TV platform, cable is lower than DBS on the totem pole, i.e. there are games on satellite that you absolutely can't get on cable. E.g. NFL Sunday Ticket, Portugese 1a. Liga, the bundesliga on German TV, etc.

I'm pretty sure that ESPN pacific rim is the ESPN station for Asia. They show their ESPN International and some local coverage on it (at least I thin kthis is the ESPN I saw when I was in Singapore).

So unless you have a really wacky cable or sattelite system, you're probably not going to get it.
