Has anything been on the scroll? I'm getting NBA2night, despite the fact that the online program guide says "Galaxy vs Wizards" Anyone know what's up? NBA2night was supposed to be on at midnight, not 1am.
Argh My digital cable says "MLS Soccer", but this is not MLS Soccer. Glad I didn't program my VCR to tape this. ESPN2 better not screw over soccer...again.
The only thing I can guess is that the softball bumped everything one hour and they would not cancel the NBA Tonight for anything so we have to wait. Not sure if we have to wait til after NBA Matchup also.
No change shown. The game should be on. http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/tvlistings/schedule?date=20030525&network=02 Folks on these boards get upset about others constantly railing against ESPN. But sometimes it's deserved.
All right. We're gonna need email addresses, phone numbers, addresses. We're storming ESPN from every angle!! Who's with me? The live softball I understand, but when I flip to the Mothership and they're doing in-depth analysis and highlights of NBA games, that really does it for me!
It's the only time this season that the Kansas City Wizards are scheduled to be on one of the Disney channels. Pathetic. I hope they show the game in its entirety after the NBA stuff, but it screws my overnight taping. Metros/Burn starts at 3pm on MSG. I'd like to find out when the broadcast is so I can set the VCR and go to bed.
Maybe they forgot about the game. MLS fans deserve more than that. ESPN once again treats us MLS fans like dirt.
Hopefully after NBA 2 Night, probably pushed back 30 mins. due to softball overage. I turned it to "the deuce" about 3 mins before 10PM PST and softball was just wrapping up (I wasn't watching softball....no, really!!)
The bottom line has "MLS" and "Soccer" tabs. The MLS info was a plug for next week's Soccer Saturday, and the Soccer info was a plug for Monday's USA/Wales game. Nothing about when the Gals/Wiz game would be played, or results from the other two games played today. Sigh.
Even if the game is shown at 2:00 EST that's gonna screw every single person that set the VCR to tape the thing and went to bed. And the least they could do is have some sort of announcement - somewhere - about a delay. But frankly, I'm skeptical about this thing being on at all still.
I guess I should switch to CSN and watch the end of the Freedom/Power game. EDIT: MSG to watch the end of the MetroStars/Burn game.
I highly doubt they will not show it. In actuality, this is ESPN's SOP - when something runs live, you push everything back. I think they made the wrong call, but this is what they do other times, like when MLS games run over. They just decided to keep their NBA stuff on and will probably cut from the 3-5 boxing. At least, I hope.
I have no problem with the game being moved back other than the fact that I have been watching ESPN 2 for about 40 minutes now without a single note to viewers that programming has been changed. Edit: Posters on another thread have mentioned seeing a programming note that the match will be shown at 2am ET / 11pm PT.
Game for sure at 11 p.m. PT Just saw an announcement at the bottom of ESPN2 that the game will be on at 11 p.m. PT. Guess they weren't showing the result earlier not to spoil it for us - so do we call that an improvement? And beside, Jenny Finch is a multi-talented "talent" in the booth for softball ...
The bastards probably inserted into the crawl just now - right after they got a whole bunch of angry calls and emails that prompted them to change their earlier plan of skipping the soccer and going straight to the boxing. Yes, I always assume the absolute worst.
