Who are the idiots doing the English language announcing on ESPN in the US?
Damn they are so annoying and have ridiculous takes.
The Spanish language announcers are so much better

 

I had to switch channels too.
The Spanish Language announcers are Colombian.

 

Champion/Robson has been the best announcer pairing

 

Any word on the commentary assignments for the knockout rounds?

 

Spending 10 minutes straight talking about a bad miss on a play that was offside anyway is one reason for having the commentators physically present in the stadium. That way they would actually see the linesman's flag being raised.

 

99.9% sure they'll wait for the matchups to be set before assigning commentators.

During today's broadcast Darke accidentally said this was the World Cup instead of the Euros.
I personally don't really see it as that big of a deal but I bet if an American commentator made a similar mistake they would be lambasted and hung in this forum.

Oviously the semi finals will be commentated by Champion and Darke and the final by Darke. Hopefully Max Bretos gets no assignments past the group stage.

 

Which is really a shame because this Euro has once again proven that Derek Rae is the best commentator ESPN has. I like Champion but Darke has always been highly overrated to me. He should be 3rd choice not first.

Thanks for the update. I'm not watching the Ukraine-Poland match now - I'm currently working - so I wouldn't have notice the change in commentators until I watch it which will be a couple of hours from now.

Twellman and Darke should be the commentators for Wednesdays Sweden-Belgium match as according to Twellmans twitter - he (and Darke probably too) is in Nice, France (where the match is being held) already.
