This is from a quasi-text-commentary of ESPN SportsCenter anchor Kenny Mayne's (rather staged) trip across the country to four sports events today:

    Ummm... wrong league?

I'd rather they sold Kenny Mayne.

Do we really need to create a thread for each and every throwaway reference to soccer?

    Really?

No. But I thought this one was particuarly funny considering the finances of the two professional leagues these days.

MLS' finances are fine considering they're run/owned by two extremely rich people.

Of course if they weren't owned by two very rich people, that'd be another story....

You mean, burn up thousands of Disney dollars to fill up air time that could have been used for more actual sports news coverage rather than being self-indulgent?

Come on, SportsCenter. The REAL news is that you are getting too big for your britches. If FOX would get rid of The Worst Damn Sports Show Period and reconstitute a nightly sports show (Van Earl Wright, all is forgiven!) maybe the ESPN suits will actually show MLS/WUSA highlights. Damn.
