Tournaments of tournaments. Some guy goes through and ranks the post season tourneys from Baseball to College Hockey to the World Cup. There is a poll there for you input. ;) There is also a section for which you can complain/congrat him on his picks.

That 3.5 year regular season can sure put a toll on the players.

The guy is clearly an idiot. He said he prefered the NBA playoffs to the Stanley Cup playoffs because the NHL lets in too many teams... The NBA has 16 of 29 teams in the playoffs while the NHL has 16 out of 30.

I'm sure this guy agrees with the poll that says the fans of college basketball are more fanatical than World Cup fans.

    fill in the blank

    ESPN, page 2:

<i>"World Cup should probably be the call, what with its high-octane cocktail of globalism, nationalism and general fanaticism. But there's something too diffuse about it. Like looking up at a starry night sky, you can appreciate and admire the Cup tournament, but you can't take it in. The baseball playoffs, on the other hand ... "</i>

    anyone care to top that?

Really whats the point, the World Cup shouldn't even be part of break down. Its a tournament, but not a post-season one.

What a coincidence...Baseball's is about to start and they get the "win"
MLB should pay this guy (if they have not already) if not only because he describes baseball as being better than all other sports, something i think even hardcore fans American sports would disagree on

We're getting a little respect on most fanatical fans, but we're still not winning anything. . .

It's soccer's owns fault for being too much like a starry night sky.

I think we definitely need some rule changes to make soccer less starry-night-skyish.

Even if you take World Cup out of the equation, it's terrible. MLB playoffs better than the NCAA tournament? NBA playoffs better than NFL playoffs? I dunno, maybe it's a joke article or something.

The guy is an idiot. Not that soccer should win, IMO. But for him to choose the MLB playoffs over the World Cup and the NCAA Tournament? Moron.

the one area where the Final Four tourney is more exciting than the World Cup is because more teams have a chance to win and if you lose you go home. No first round group play. The first round in the NCAA tourney is the most exciting two days in sports because there is a finality to it. The first games in the first round in the WC do not impact as heavily on the teams. But for a whole tournament though the WC ranks first far and above any others. You're playing for national pride here...!
