Am I the only one who notices that ESPN uses a terrible quality camera for MLS games?

I watch MLS games on NBC, games on FOX soccer, and soccer tournaments aired on ESPN using cameras not owned by ESPN, and the quality is very good. As soon as I watch something MLS related on ESPN though, there is a drastic drop in quality. The whole picture just looks grainy and it's hard to distinguish the players, even on an HDTV. And to make matters worse, they add the scrolling thing at the bottom.

Is there any particular reason for this, or is ESPN really that cheap?

I notice it as well. It's a complete joke. ESPN treats MLS like crap.

I agree. NBC Sports Network's production is much better. The camera angles are tight. I was watching the Red Bulls vs Tottenham game on tuesday night on ESPN 2 and the camera angles seemed a mile away. By contrast, the Red Bulls vs DC United game a few weeks back on the NBC Sports Network was beautifully produced. You felt like you were at the game at Red Bull Arena.

I hate the ticker at the bottom of the screen. Too much information.

The ticker was helpful 10 years ago; now pretty much everyone has a smart phone and can check scores in real time. I wish there was a way to turn it off; some times I end up zooming the picture so it won't get me dizzy
