ESPN Soccernet has a nice article on Kamara and the dangers he faced early in his life.

Fantastic read, good to know where our players come from. I'm impressed he decided to stay loyal to the Sierra Leone NT I don't know if I would, then again I don't know if I have the strength to survive all that, very tough (understatement of the year).

Kei, Corey, Stuart, Chabala, Geoff, Cam, Tally, Dominic, Danny and Landin all have alot of untapped potential within them. It's up to the coaches and their own internal desire to achieve it.

In particular, I think we have forgotten how bright the future is for the Dynamo with players like Tally and Cam. Tally just happens to be playing behind the best 'Portrero' in 'EME,ELE,ESE'.

BTW when is Cam coming back?

Thanks for posting the link. I had heard that Kai "grew up" in LA, but that article provides a better perspective on his experience in life.

Kei is pure class and the entire Houston management is fantastic, including the PR department. Dynamo fans are truly spoiled.

Keep supporting Kei - he's a great person and loves the team, the city and the support.

I love Kei....his production has slowed a bit. But I love that he tries...he's bustin his ass and that's all I asked of my team.

Besides...I think he's the only player to run into the stands and party with EB. That was awesome.

Seeing as how it will really raise Rey's blood pressure and probably cause intense acid indigestion - here is a flashback to one of my first photos at a Dynamo game - Enjoy (Rey, if you like I could print this out in an 8x10 and get it to you at the next game:D):

I'll never forget that incident, as I was at a conference in Connecticut watching that game at a bar.

you don't understand. this sht does actually raise my blood pressure. i feel the throb in my temples as i type.

you see, he chested-in! he actually acted like a field player in the box trying to avoid touching the ball and then he frking chested the ball into his own goal! am i the only one who thinks that was the most ludicrous thing they have ever seen in a competitive soccer game! i mean for the love of God, OK if you insist not using your hands as goalie and want to use your chest, fine! but chest the ball down to your feet where you can scoop it! don't try to avoid the ball and snap your chest and put it in your own goal!

That is the difference between someone like Superman Marín and Tony "I can´t use my hands" Caig, if you are Superman Marín, after that weird play you are still call to the Argentinian National Team (as the sub, but still, the Argentinian NT) and you win a championship, someone like Caig (that went from Europe, to Canada to sub in the MLS (love our league, but sub in the MLS is not something worthy of your resume) "is let go".

You wanted to be MArín?, dude, you are old, I wanted to be Jean Marie Pfaff or Andoni Zubizarreta, bur after he signed for Barcelona in 1986, I only wanted to be Pfaff, I could nevr forgive a Basque player moving from Athletic Club Bilbao to Real Madrid or Barcelona.

wanted? past tense? i actually still sport the same haircut. jajajajajajaja.

seriously, to us kids Marin was superman. that dude could fly. to this day i still haven't seen someone fly like Marin, but part of that is probably childhood nostalgia.

    Zubizarreta was a wall.

ps - we ruined another good thread. :D
