Why would espn want to put losers in their screen?

Why dont you ask yourself why ESPN does not have Italian or German soccer? they have both acomplished much more than England!

Why dont you open a thread that says "I am american and I love ping pong soccer."

Call me whatever you want, but for the most just call me an "anti" losers.

Why arent this great EPL players dominating the world cup and the euro cup? answer it bit...

Ah yes, re-read it now. It'd be a $1 billion bribe. Why don't they just bribe the premier league in that case and get dropped straight in?

Selling league places would be a kind of worrying precent, wouldn't it?

    1...2...3...4...5...and relax

picture a nice stream running next to a field on a summer's day, with birds in the trees singing, some small children playing with a dog perhaps, a butterfly floating by, and a young woman jogging down the path, with her little shorts over shapely thighs and rivulets of sweat soaking her thin cotton top, moulding itself to the contours of her firm...err...and a painter sat by his easel, eyeing the scene, dabbing a splash of colour to his canvas, where the stream dominates, leading the eye to the meadow, where two lovers intertwine, their hands slowly reaching down as they begin to..err...no...a cloud passes overhead, and beyond a hot-air ballon drifts away, the pilot smiling as he waves, as with his other hand he...surely that's illegal...but oh no, the small children have found their grandfather's howitzer that in his forgetful state he often leaves about, and they've fired it at the ballon...the skin tears and the basket and pilot plummet to the ground...surely they'll die...but no...as this is a relaxing thought, as Mr Heggurty, the village's morbidly obese resident is having a day out behind towed behind a pick-up, and he breaks the pilot's fall...as splashes into his skin and is never seen again...which serves him right....

so just imagine that, and those silly tempestuous outbursts need not trouble you again.

It would be seen too much as a bribe and unfair, and yes bribe call it what you will the teams of the football league wont turn down 1 Billion they need it.

Did an Englishman piss on your cornflakes or something? If you anti-England trolls are going to start anti-England threads they would be more appropriately placed in World Rivalries rather than the USA forum. I very much doubt Americans care that you have a complex about England.

Secondly, I thought this thread was about club football. Why wouldn't ESPN want to show the world's strongest, most glamorous and most famous league?

So have Brazil, but I don't see anyone lining up to show the Brazilian farm league. Even if we were talking about international teams, why wouldn't they want to show a team full of recognisable stars from the country that invented the game?

Why don't you keep your trolling to the wastebin forum it belongs in?

You mean like Fabregas and Torres?

fabregas and torres? 2 players out of how many?

they both learned how to play soccer in spain.

fabregas is a good player, torres is descent.

fabregas didnt even start for spain, torres did ok.

Villa dominated the tournament with the help of the best keeper in the world: casillas. not to mention the great job of puyol and ramos on D, what about chavy?

How many world champions play on EPL? i think most of them play in serie A. so dont tell me the ping pong crap is the best in the world.

I must say that it's refreshing that you are able to discuss the merits of leagues without bias or hyperbole, and I sure one day I'll get the chance.

They may both have learned to play in Spain, but they currently play in the Premier League, which when discussing the merits of the league is the important part.

Torres is arguably the best striker in the world, he is more than descent. Fabregas is better than good too.

Fabregas started on the bench, but through a string of fine appearences forced his way into the starting line up.

Villa played well in the group stages, then disappeared. And who cares about all the other great Spanish players you mentioned. That doesn't make Fabregas and Torres disappear, does it?

I thought that all of the current world champions play in England, or more specifically Salford?

Quite true. Italy's record over the past five seasons has been impressive.

Out of 20 Italian clubs who participated in the Champions League over the past five years, the Serie A has produced 1 Champion, 1 Runner Up, and 1 Semifinalist.

2005, 2006, and 2007. Big years for Italian football. AC Milan was the finalists in 2005. AC Milan was the Semifinalists in 2006, and AC Milan was the champions in 2007. Those great Italians clubs.

Whereas the EPL on the other hand only had a slightly better record. What with only TWO Champions, THREE Runners-Up, and FIVE Semifinalists.

Whereas I can only mention AC Milan who's reached the SEMI-FINAL and further over the past five seasons for Italians clubs, but I can mention Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool AND Chelsea who have reached the FINAL and beyond.

And don't get me started on the fact that Serie A has produced 6 who even failed to get out of the Group Stage.

As much as you love Serie A and the Italian team, it is easy to see that viewers in America want to see EPL teams. Serie A will get more time on FSC and will be able to grow if EPL's rights are bought straight up by ESPN.

Side note, it would be nice if ESPN and FSC split the rights where ESPN gets the "better" matchups and derby matched, but FSC still gives us the other games that are being played in the same timeslot.

Good call Shake! This viewpoint of EPL vs. MLS needs to end.

Tell me why do 20,000 people attend HIGH SCHOOL football games (american football) in Texas? Even though they are watching a game that may only have 1 or 2 Division 1 players on the field? Because it is THEIR team, it is THEIR community and it has nothing to do with D-1 sports or NFL. Those are their kids and they support them. The point is that with MLS, we have our own teams. No matter how much fun it is to see EPL games or how much I may love an EPL team, I am not there and that is never going to be MY team. That is what MLS is and it has nothing to do with comparing it to EPL, it may never reach that level. And there is nothing wrong with loving teams in Europe or S. America, but if you live in a city with an MLS or even USL team you get to have your own pro team in your back yard and that is something Real or Man U can never be.

And as far as having to watch "inferior" games, how can you tell me that NCAA March Madness upsets are not more fun to watch then NBA games? Of course there are not any Lebrons out there, but that has nothing to do with entertainment. MLS is an entertaining league IMO, and it is our league and we have to stop comparing it to everything else.

I thought a lot of Spanish, Italian, Argentina and Brazilian soccer always ended in a draw.

That's why the Premiership is more exciting I suppose.
