these announcers seem to be making the rounds, don't they? Klinsi is doing ESPN and the BBC (i believe). Tyler was doing the England warm up for Sky, doing games for ESPN and doing interviews with Sky and apparently SBS. I also saw Harkes interviewed on Sky before the Eng-USA game.
Someone wrote it best- here or elsewhere. JP's style is perfect for the radio, but not the TV. It almost sounds like he's simulcasting. Watching the 2002 US games on ESPN Classic it seems that this style was similar. basically explaining what you can plainly already see happening in front of you. Great for radio (i assume) but not for TV.
