Due to the large crowd this opening day we have pushed the march in time back 10 minutes to 3:30. Hopefully this will allow us more time to get by security and not miss the match.

Just a little extra here. 3:30 means trying to meet at Gate C at 3:30. With a good crowd, seeing us march through the stadium can push numbers/interest up in ESC, and add to a fun/exciting enviroment for new fans(get 'em to come back).

ALSO - the NBA playoff sched is set. Over at the Arena, the Nets will have a 4:30pm game. Be prepared to have 16A closed. maybe this would be a good time for the ESC to place an official "we are going to be at the alternate tailgate spot" advisory?

So, if you can't park near the ESC, just remember, march time is 3:30 in front of Gate C

Crap. Brilliant scheduling. What time does the lot open? Lot 18 is the backup plan right? The ESC tailgate might be split between 16A and 18.

    Knicks-Nets at 4:30? Christ. :(

At least 50,000 people trying to get in and out. Should be fun.

Leaving shouldn't be a problem since the Nets game won't be over earlier than 6:30, so if you leave immediately after the Metros game (around 6-ish), you should be OK.

Entering should be a lot of fun, with Soccer Moms who are coming to GS for the first time trying to decide which spot they're going to park in and with the endless entrances that the NJSEA decides to keep closed.

The scene is going to resemble the DC/SJ opener on ABC where there were patches of empty seats because of late arriving fans, stuck in the parking lot.

Unfortunately, the Networks decide the times, otherwise the Nets would have been playing at night.

If you get there early, lot 16a shouldnt be a problem. SO just get there before 3:00 and you should be able to get into 16a.

Yes and 3:30 mean we go in from Gate C at 3:30 so if you're in another lot, dont wait till 3:30 to start heading over, we'll most likely be marchin in already, you can try and catch up tho.

Alas, for the first time in the history of the Metro I will be missing openning day. I hope that you all enjoy the day! Openning Day is certainly a very special day! I know that some of you will remember my friends Dave (the British West Ham fan) and his girlfriend KT, the chinese woman who always brings tons and tons of wonderful food. Well they will be getting married on Saturday, so I will be at their wedding. Dave, has made made sure that the facility where the wedding is to be help has a television set up at the bar so we can catch some of the game! Again, I hope that you have a wonderful time, and wish Dave and KT good luck at the next Metro game they make it to. (they will be honeymooning in China until the end of the month)

I remember striking up conversation at Nevada Smiths one time with a devout British West Ham fan and his Chineese GF. Does she have a bunch of tattoos by any chance and he have a beer belly? If not then I'll just go away :)

Tickets are checked at the top of the section, so they should not let you in 101 unless you have a ticket for it. People occassionally walk through the sections and get in that way, but that's a lot harder when there are 30,000 people there.

There's a fat dude in a Yankee hat sitting on a blue lawn chair next to a drum the size of cleveland. He's the one passing out ESC Cards. Find the 16A pole, and look around.

You cannot buy a ticket for 101 without an ESC card

Just out of curiosity, how did you get that from what I wrote?

What I said was that there are guards (supposed to be, anyway) that stand at the top of the section and check tickets for 101. Therefore, if you don't have a 101 ticket, you can't get into 101.

You have to be an ESC member to buy 101 tickets though. People do occaissionally sneak into 101, but no one condones that.

If you don't have tickets to 101. Go into the whatever section your ticket says. Once you're in the section, sneak on over to 101 through the seats of other sections. I used to do this 3 years ago before I became a member. You'll most likely get away with it even with 30,000.

Or you can just get there early and get yourself an ESC card and then you'll have tickets all the time...(At a lower price.)
