All, It's about that time of year again, summer. The weather is cold, the sun is MIA and Metro are in first place. Most years, all three would be bold face lies. But's it a new tradition, so time to get your bus schmoove on and join the ESC as we pile in the mobile drink tank and high tail it up to New England for a soccer double header. METRO- REVOLUTION, 4PM USA- EL SALVADOR, 6: 30 PM (note, there is also a Costa Rica- Canada game at noon that we will not be catching). So you get two games, one bus ride and a hell of a good time all for the low price of $ 45 for ESC members. See fee details below. There are approx. 55 seats on the bus, first come, first served. We will only be running one bus, so the sooner you reply and get your money in the better. All money and sign-ups must be made by June 30th to guarantee a seat on the bus. If you miss that date, we will most likely not be able to accomodate you. Trip Details: The bus will leave from the Giants Stadium Park and Ride at 10AM. (This schedule subject to slight modification). It will then head into the city and arrive at 10:30 am at the usual NYC pick up spot, 28th and 7th avenue in Manhattan. From there we will leave for New England, arriving around 3pm, about 1 hour prior to kick off for the Metro game. The USA match should end around 8:30PM. Back in the bus for a 9PM departure. If all goes well we will arrive in NYC at midnight, back at GS at about 12:30. Then you have all day Sunday to sleep it off and work out an explanation for the missus. It's BYOB food and beverages. If you have some VCR tapes you'd like to drop on us, bring em along (keep it decent, okay). The front of the bus is pretty much the family type section, the back is the working class youth with an axe to grind section, so keep that in mind. We don't want to make anyone uncomfortable. Also, let's try to keep all of the food/liquids flowing in the same direction this time. Payment Details: Flyers/Sign up sheets will be available at the next two home matches, and we can also e-mail one to you if you would like. You can pay in person in cash at lot 16A at the next two home games, June 14th and June 21st. You can also pay in person at the away game veiwing at Nathan Hale's on June 28th (4pm vs. Chicago) if there are still seats left. (Please try to bring exact change, or at least something close to it). If you would rather pay online, you can go to paypal.com and send a payment to escgear@yahoo.com. If you do this, please also send an e-mail to empiresc@verizon.net to let us know that you've sent a payment. We will need from you: your name, 2003 ESC membership card number, a phone number where we can reach you and desired pick up location, either Giants Stadium or Manhattan. If you are not an ESC member, you can sign up for membership and the bus trip at the same time. Rates: $ 45 for early bird sign and pay by June 14th $ 60 for sign up from June 15th to June 30th. $ 75 Non-members (so don't be a wally, sign up for membership and save as much as $20). NOTE: if you just want a match ticket and will not be going on the bus trip, tickets are $ 30. Please follow the same payment instructions above, and be sure to send us an e-mail letting us know you just want a ticket and how many you require. You will be able to pick up your ticket at Gillete Stadium on the day of the game so that you can catch all three games. If you are interested, please either reply to this e-mail or catch up with us in the lot before next match. If you have outstanding membership issues, please reply to escmembership@verizon.net as soon as possible. Thank you for your support, and VIVA METRO! mods, please sticky.
I'm interested in the match ticket, but I'll be heading up there seperately. I'm curious as to where these tickets are? Will ESC be in it's own section and then later merge into the SamsArmy/ USA Supporters sections? I can't imagine ESC being right next to the Midnight Riders during the MLS match.
Our Metros game tix will be in the Gen. Adm. endzone opposite the Midnite Sailors. Revs Tix Honcho Tornberg has assured me we will be allowed to rejoin the Army on the Midnite Sailors end after the Metro match. Also keep in mind! If you plan to go up the night before, why not pay for a one way bus, or train (chinatown NYC to chinatown BOS bus is only 10 bucks!!!) and return on the ESC bus to celebrate a Revs/Salvo double ass whipping. At the early bird price of $45 for the one way return and game ticket, its still a helluva deal and it will really help us to provide future roadtrips for the supporters club.
Thanks! Just so I'm clear. I want to be with the ESC during the MLS match and then be with the Army/US Supporters/MidnightRiders during the Nats match. So I should buy my tickets through ESC, stand with them in the opposite endzone for the MLS match. Then we'll migrate over into the "Fort" for the Nats game? Why do I have the feeling that they'll never let me into the Fort? I remember them checking tickets at the top of the stairs and turning aways tickets from other sections. Last thing I need is to be stuck in the soccer mom/ sallies section for the Nats (or with Revs fans during the MLS match).
I'm planning on heading up to the game too. I'll be spending the night before and after in Boston to hit some bars. Any suggestions? I'll probably check the Sam's Army site to see where they'll have their pre-match party. Where will the "party bus" be in the lot? Any special section?
Most of the good bars are by Fenway. Look for Lansdowne Street and it won't be hard to tell which bars are good.
Maybe i can get a better answer here bc nobody from ESC replied to my email yet... 1- Can I get 2 at the ESC price (like regular games when u can get up to 4) 2- So is it guaranteed that we'll be sitting with the Army for the USA/CR match?
This year the Fort and all endzone sections are General Admission. They don't check tickets. They have posted signs at the top of the stairs informing people that there will standing in the Fort. The only way you don't get into the Fort this year is if all the seats are filled.
If the section for the Metro game is general admission, does that mean that we will have to deal with people already sitting in the section for the first game??
That's what I was told by the Revs front office about 6 weeks ago but I did read somewhere on here (BS Boards) how perhaps now the Revs have agreed giving the ESC at least some block of seats together. Hopefully someone from ESC will confirm or deny this.
Hope y'all don't mind if a Revs fan answers a couple of your questions. First, tickets are GA now in the Cat III seats. I don't think the Revs will be able to give you a block of tickets together. You might have to head in early to make sure you can secure your own spots. Secondly, the party that we are hosting the night before will be at the OverDraught Pub in Cambridge. More info can be found at the Riders site, http://www.midnightriders.com. Just finished watching your match against the Fire ... damn, the young talent on your team. Wish we had some younger players that were contributing. Monty
Thanks to Allez Zizou and Patfan1 for the help out with the on-site info. For those who signed up today, thank you. For those still wanting to sign up, we will be at the lot at 2pm next week (4 o'clock game vs. the Galaxatives) and at Nathan Hale's on the 28th for the day game vs. the Fire (4pm). Please drop an e-mail to empiresc@verizon.net if you have any questions. Viva metro!
Thats alot of money boys....would love to go, someone make some noise for me.......and I can only hope that someone vomits on the bus this time too.
so I guess "The Warriors" is out then huh?? Anyone have a copy of that Robert Duvall flick (Shot at Glory???) where his amateur Scottish side goes up against Rangers??? I keep catching the end of it on cable, but I'd like to see the full thing
Alot of money? Compared to what.... The " Oz Season One " box set you bought last week? ;-) LOOKIT, go or don't go, but for what your getting this trip is a first rate bargain. No need to excuse your absence by blaming the cost, Christian, better to just smile and wave as the bus rolls out of the Swamp. Truly sorry you can't make it , but your post was just unnecessary and counter productive to the purpose of this thread, which is to encourage people to get on, not off the bus. These roadtrips are a lot of things, but too expensive ain't one of them.
There are a bunch of seats left. As in more than 10, less than 55. Please, if you are on the fence, get on the bus. It is a great time, 2 matches for $ 60 bucks and stories to tell your co-workers over lunch on Monday that will make them slowly back away from their chicken ceasar salad and revere you as the god like figure you truly are. Or whatever. It's fun.
My bad chief, the trips are a great time and fun, no doubt you get to meet alot of people, talk footie, and just chill. The ESC is loaded with some great ladies and gents like my boy Congorilla. No doubt, he's a quality *************** and will certainly tag a number of Foxboro lasses during his time at the grounds...... I would be there, my last trip was terriffic, but I have three huge years of law school debt looming, so make some noise for me, don't forget the aerosol spray, and Koch, watch your actions around trash cans. I encourage everyone to give this a shot, whether ESC or not, you'll be hooked.
I once knew a guy who wasn't able to complete law school because he ended up $45.00 short on his tuition in his third year. Heartbreaking stuff.
