Es la Batalla final Real Sociedad vs Real Madrid? Será un partido decisivo. Si la Real Sociedad gana, tendrá todavía opciones al título, y si no gana quedará prácticamente descartado para lograr el campeonato. Es un duelo entre dos equipos con características muy distintas. El Real Madrid tratará de prevalecer su gran calidad individual no exenta de solidaridad, porque si Zidane juega suelto en el centro del campo y Roberto Carlos sube por la banda cuando le da la gana, es porque futbolistas como Makelele y Flavio hacen una labor de relevos extraordinaria mientras la Real no tiene tantas figuras y practica un juego muy solidario. Dicen que el Real Madrid es asimétrico y entiendo el sentido de la afirmación en el sentido de que no tiene un Figo por la izquierda y Zidane se mete al centro, pero hay que reconocer que en el lugar que ocupa el portugués por la derecha e incluso más adelantado, por la izquierda suele jugar Roberto Carlos, por lo que la simetría es perfecta. El problema es asimétrico por considerar a Roberto Carlos lateral izquierdo, cuando en realidad es un hombre que juega por la banda izquierda. De ahí que las combinaciones de Zidane, Roberto Carlos y Raúl por esa zona izquierda resulten letales para los rivales y como consecuencia veamos a Helguera muy inclinado a la izquierda y Makelele prácticamente jugando de lateral izquierdo. Seguramente es lo que va tratar de aprovechar la Real Sociedad con Nihat, un delantero que se esconde, se pone acurrucado en las espaldas de Kovasevic y sorprende con enorme velocidad rompiendo por el pasillo del interior derecho. El turco está veloz y decidido, tiene mucha confianza y se planta con determinación delante de cualquiera. Kovasevic se complementa muy bien con él, trabaja, se mueve, arrastra a los centrales para dejar los huecos por donde penetra Nihat. Además, si juega De Pedro, sus centros cruzados resultan letales para los remates del serbio. La Real ataca con más criterio por la banda izquierda y remata mejor por la derecha, Aranzábal y De Pedro forman una sociedad bien avenida y Karpin suele llegar con buena sincronización al remate por el otro lado. Flavio y Salgado tendrán que estar atentos para cerrar la banda. En el centro Xabi Alonso y Aramburu tendrán un duelo espectacular con Makelele y Flavio y veremos cómo los donostiarras sujetan a Zidane. Se vio contra el Manchester, si el francés tiene espacios para jugar su equipo juega como los ángeles. De todas formas y es puro instinto, creo que será el partido de Ronaldo, al contraataque y porque tiene algunas deudas pendientes.
I would agree with a lot of that. As other posters have pointed out, Makelele's work is critical, and it's good to see the recent press he's gotten in praise of the heavy lifting he does. It will be a tough match-really a tough stretch of games for Real Madrid. Real Sociedad, Barcelona, Manchester United and Sevilla on the trot. And if Madrid do lose to Sociedad, imagine what that will do to Barca-nothing the cules would like better but to make the merengues sweat a bit. Como siempre, el morbo es interesante y caliente.

Los Galacticos doesn´t have so much chances to win outside Bernabeu, it looked without so many chances, comparing how they played in Bernabeu. Real had goal´s options but only could make 2 by the Ronaldo and Portillo´s foot.

Ouch, 4-2! Well combined with Deportivo's win at Barcelona by the same score, it makes for a nice ending to La liga. Real Madrid leads Deportivo & Real Sociedad by 3 points each with 9 matches left. I guess somewhat of a let down was to be expected after the game vs Manchester United but I didn't expect this much of a letdown! Real Sociedad is a good team.
Yes I had a bad feeling before this game because I too felt a bit of a let down was to be expected after the Champion's legaue win but as Merengue says i didn't expect that big of a let down! Real Sociedad got an early goal and kept the pressure on Madrid. Hierro, who played so well v Manchester United, looked like an old man yesterday as Sociedad's attackers went right around him. Unlike Manchester who tried long passes to van Nistelrooy which Hierro ate up, Real Sociedad made quick combinations of passes and used their speed against Hierro and the rest of the defense. Salgado, who has played well this year, had fits with the excellent De Pedro. There was a spell midway in the first half where it looked like a basketabll game. Sociedad scored, on the next attack Madrid scored, after the kickoff Sociedad scored again then Madrid had a Zidane shot go off the post. All of this in a span of 3 minutes or less! Real Sociedad is a top notch team. They attack and defend in blocks and with this win they and Deportivo are back in the title race. It'll be a good finish to the end of the season. As for Madrid I don't doubt they'll shake this loss off and it actually may help them v Manchester United (and Barcleona this weekend) as they shouldn't come in too overconfident.
I dont want to ruin the party but more than probably we'll have a tie on saturday, I expect something different than the nil-nil though! Actually, the Superclasico is always entertaining and with goals, I dont remember the last 0-0 before this season, anyone?
