Nungaray seems to be working his way into the coach's good graces. After going the full 90 in Copa MX mid-week, he made his league debut for Correcaminos last night, playing ten mins off the bench.
Nungaray has now turned up with Deportivo Coatzacoalcos in the third tier. For anyone wondering, the word "Coatzacoalcos" originally meant "the place where the snake hides" and was frequently used in Aztec pick-up lines.
Aztec Pick-Up Lines are playing a DJ set at a house party in Williamsburg on Sunday. I may check them out.
Make that the second tier. Nungaray didn't play much for them in the regular season, but he took over a starting role in the playoffs as they won four straight series and earned promotion. Will be interesting to see where he ends up this fall.
So much for that. Due to stadium issues, they weren't allowed to be promoted after all. http://www.el-mexicano.com.mx/infor...e-queda-sin-ascenso-delfines-de-coatzacoalcos
Given the popularity of the sport and strength of the top division, Mexico has a surprisingly weak bench of minor league teams. Ascenso MX is never at a full capacity of clubs.
Nungaray is on the bench for Veracruz's Clausura opener in Liga MX which is underway now. During the 2014 Apertura he made 12 starts for Atlético Coatzacoalcos in the third tier scoring two goals.
he's got a more impressive resume than at least one guy in the current US camp and not that far off some of the U-23s (slightly too old)
At least some reward for slogging it out through the youth teams and minors for years. Eat your heart out, Lletget.
http://tododeportesreynosa.com/?p=34720 Nungaray appears to have landed with Reynosa FC in the Mexican third tier.
Registered with Morelia's Segunda Division team and was an unused sub in Copa MX for the first team this week. He does have brief experience in Copa MX and Ascenso MX in the past.
In the 2016 Apertura, Nungaray had 20 appearances (19 starts) and 7 goals in the Segunda Division for Morelia, across league and playoff games. He also made the bench for Morelia's first team in two Copa MX games, but didn't get in.
He's headed further south of late: He played at Sport Boys in Peru last year and is now with Ayacucho FC, also in Peru's 1st tier. He's played 14 matches with 4 goals in 2019. @TheFalseNine -- Let's promote him to YA, please.
He's now with CA Mannucci, also in Peru. https://www.breakingnews.fr/sport/f...-et-ernest-nungaray-decentralized-103128.html
