Go ask a Yankee fan if they're happy to have George Steinbrenner own their team. He's an Ohio guy who lives in Tampa, but if they saw him walking across the Hudson River they'd say "yeah, that makes sense. We all knew he walks on water.''
I'm not sure if it makes sense to complain both that (1) Soler doesn't have adequate knowledge and experience re: MLS' unique rules and structure, and (2) Red Bull hasn't already fired the people in the organization who have knowledge and experience re: MLS' unique rules and structure. The jury ought to be out at least until the season starts and probably for a longer period than that.
Thank you for bring this up, I hope he can get it... This is New York, not Barcelona... Home-grown talent is second priority.
I'm in NY, and I'm not sure what I would call this, but I find it funny that it seems to be a directory of other sites you can get to thru this one, 2 of which are: RSVP Gay Cruises onlinebootycall.com I'm surprised I didn't find one called www.dontknowcrap.com, or www.ruinourfootballclub.com.
Never. Life is too serious to kid around. rarnfinn seems to be having the time of his life posting a nonexistent Soler homepage, so we might as well egg him on. At least his placeholder page is (slightly) more entertaining than www.jeffagoos.com.
Ran into Erik Soler in midtown Manhattan today...sharp looking dude...never would've guessed 5' 3", presents taller...speaks good english...gave him the Red Bull fan's welcome to NYC...congrats too...couldn't resist also giving him plugs for RBNY Cosmos and Dave VDB...as expected noncommittal on both...asked him to pronounce Hans Backe's name...Bock-uh with a little "a" in the bock and a little "e" in the uh...don't know how often he's in the city, hope he doesn't think every black guy is a New York Red Bulls fan (lol)...now back to football.
