    Is collusion really a thing?

At least he's playing, unlike Weah.

EPB started the game, Weah was on the bench.

Weah went the full second half and was on for the LOSC goal. Neither was particularly involved. Weah made the support run behind the provider. EP-B marking near post area. EP-B with nearly 40 apps this season after 20 or so last year. Weah with 28. His past 3 seasons he's had 28 or more league apps.

Out-and-out collusion is rare and hard to prove, but if the result that suits both teams is already known before kick-off and the game is entering its last 30 minutes at that score, who in their right mind is going to take any risks?

There'll be a few players out of contract or entering the final season of their contract come June 30th on the pitch. None of them are going to do anything that'll risk serious injury, nor will their coaches ask them to. The game will just peter out as a friendly

Though I don’t think the Greek Superliga is as good as it once was, I wouldn’t mind Panathinaikos or AEK for EPB. Historic clubs, competition within the squad, and you can’t go wrong with the Athens derbies. AEK is managed by former Quakes man in Matias Almeyda. He led AEK to their first double since 1978.

Greece is in the no pay/slow pay danger zone.

Very true. Outside of AEK, Olympiakos, Panathinaikos and PAOK it can get a little dicey in terms of payments. But you should be fine at big clubs.

The Greek league also isn’t any good and has been trending down for years.

He would be better off going to MLS if he can’t find a better Euro gig.

    I hate this move.

Beautiful country, Mediterranean lifestyle, with mad fans and fantastic tifo for the derbies.

Otherwise, it's a dead end. The Greek league is only fractionally ahead of Israel (where the salaries tend to clear on schedule) and the trend is downwards.

Maybe his salary will be better than MLS (though I tend to doubt it), but the football won't

I'm not even sure he'd be starting for Panathinaikos.

I hated the original Man City move, too

hopefully the era of going to super clubs that have no good idea how to help your career is over

(although the arsenal moves lately do seem to be going alright)

At this point I'd predict Ligue Deux for him. It may be a good thing, too. He'll be a regular starter, and can fix his game.

He's 26. At this point, to paraphrase Brother Mouzone, his game is his game.

Dude needs to go wherever he can earn the most money while making himself happy.

Problem is, you can only go where you're wanted.

He could beg Berhalter for a couple of appearances with the NT, so his agent can start ringing clubs with American owners or investors to talk about the marketing possibilities.

    Relegation clauses are SOP.

His salary is likely to be cut quite significantly, by at least 35% IMO.

Of course release/buyout clauses are SOP too these days, but that requires someone willing to pay.

Yup this is one of those moves to bring himself financial stability for the future, but crashes his remaining potential at going to the 2026WC barring an insane # of CB injuries.
