I don't think it went over your head the first time, but just in case it did...he isn't really your friend.

    Started:

Palmer-Brown very close to propelling the ball into the goals of Sels. The defender is well taken over by the Strasbourg goalkeeper, on a free kick from Tardieu.

Ended 1-1 after Troyes got a late PK.

He's been having a really solid 2022. Hope he keeps it up and gets rewarded with some caps this summer.

We shouldn‘t give him much attention. If we do he will just get injured.

    It's a 6-pointer against third-bottom Clermont.

Win this one and they go 7 points clear with a +14 GD with 5 games to go.

With Nice, Lille, PSG and EL-chasing Lens in the next 4 games, they'll need all of that cushion ahead of another (potential) 6-pointer against Lorient on the final day.

Which closes the gap on Clermont to just 1 point. Other results went against Troyes as well. Metz and Bordeaux are as good as dead, but with only 3 points between 14th and the playoff place in 18th, it's really tight down there.

    14th Angers 34 (GD -12)
    15th Lorient 34 (GD - 19)
    16th Troyes 33 (GD -16)
    17th Clermont 32 (GD -28)
    18th St. Etienne 31 (GD -27)

    Squeaky bum time ahead,

Probably late but I couldn't find it anywhere else so I figured to inquire here, how much did Troyes pay City for him?

How much did "Troyes" "pay" "Man City" for him?

    Transfermarkt says "free transfer."

Brutal loss. Just brutal. I thought EPB was gonna avoid D2, now this s**t.

I also remember someone posted that the Troyes boards said he was a steal for free. Seems like it was free or something super nominal.

City's owner, City Football Group, have a majority stake in the entity known as ESTAC Troyes, It's just an accounting move. When (not if) Erik is sold, City Football Group will receive the bulk of the paper profit on the transfer.

Whether that will compensate them for the money they've put into Erik (his wages and agents' fees) is another matter. It's also their problem. As long as Erik stays in Ligue 1 or the equivalent and keeps developing is all I'm interested in.

Now that EPB is showing that the speed of Ligue 1 is something he is capable of dealing with a drop to Ligue 2 would be brutal.
Keeping my fingers crossed. We need a win like him right now.
When i think back to NL, GC and the brutal qualifying schedule for these Euro guys we need new blood.
I think he could do it, but questions about his situation abound. Sigh.

After his performances this season, there'll be interest in him from at least Belgium or Holland level and I wouldn't be in any way surprised if another Ligue 1 team took him on loan for the season.

If EPB wants a shot at Qatar, and wants to be a real option next cycle, then a Top 5 League is a must at his age IMO. I’ve been told by French friends who have seen him that he can clearly hang in Ligue 1. It‘s a legit goal I think and he needs to go for it at this age. Different than let‘s say the Hoppe thread, where he is mostly highlight clip and we aren‘t sure what he can do regularly and where. EPB has put a lot of hard time in and needs to take his shot now if he can get it. He has a real chance IMO.

If they drop to #18 they have to play the relegation play-off, which is usually won by the current L1 club. I think they're safe, though.

EPB went on a free but he's reputedly making a bit over a million Euros per season, net. So it's not a bad chunk of money, even if the French taxes take 40% of it.

Most successful footballer from Kansas? Does he have that honor already wrapped up?

Matt Besler takes that title for me. EPB may be playing in a better league right now than Besler ever did, but Besler had a more accomplished career.

He's not from Kansas. He grew up on the Missouri side of the state line. And as mentioned Besler is much further ahead of him in terms of career success even if he was.

Sling has a soccer package w/ the BEIN stations that cover all of L1. It says it is going for $5/month right now:

    https://www.sling.com/international/international-sports

I signed up when it was one price for the 1st year and then it was supposed to go up the next. I am still getting these matches so I guess I should investigate how much I am paying.... because $60 a year for L1 is a pretty good price IMO.
