I mean none of those players have been ignored by the national team. Miazga was both on the Nations League roster and has been in basically every camp for Berhalter. Richards was getting called up regularly for friendlies and likely would have made the Nations League roster if not hurt. EPB is a but further off the radar but he’s been in a camp this year.

I think Richards will be back with the U.S. team soon. I am not sure Miazga will be. EPB needs to play and play well.

My guess is that Brooks. Miles, McKenzie, Richards will be the top 4. Then you have a whole bunch of people fighting for the alternate slots - Ream, Miazga, Sands, Zimmerman, EPB. CCV and Long (once healthy). Down the road, others will emerge like Che (who will move centrally, I think as he grows up).

Actually, I think that's a great thing for a super-awesome regular poster to do. I'll happily sticky it to the top of the forum.

I haven't seen him in MLS or during the Gold Cup (and not to get O/T) but what's the 411 on Miles Robinson?

Walker and Zimmerman used to be inseparable, but Brian indicated they've broken up. May we ask you to mediate, have them talk things through, and get them back together again? You might start by asking Miazga and Sands to politely step aside.

Anyone have info on Troyes? All I know is they stink, I guess?

Seems a decent move, anything is better than another season in Austria. But I'm also not really liking this trend of US players going to certain relegation. It's great to say Hoppe was a BL player last year, but he really wasn't because that was hardly even a BL2 team. I guess the experience all these guys get in a relegation battle will be good, but I worry it won't even be a battle, and they'll just be relegated by Xmas, and then what good will that do?

Whatever happens there will be a lot of centerbacks who normally would make it on past USMNT but won't this time.

I cant remember how many times a starter in a top 4 league didnt make a usmnt world cup roster, but it hasnt been many - this cycle will be new territory in that regard.

I think ggg is looking at 3cb setups because the usmnt has so many available in its pool, partially(and also bc he is very defensive minded, generally),.....but im not convinced it is actually the best formation for the team.....6cbs means a few less attackers than is ideal, imo.

Going back and editing a post often leads to more mistakes than the one you fixed.. what else can I say?

There was a time we had 4 starting keepers in the EPL, but Friedel had retired from international duty by that time.

I would be surprised if that has ever happened with non-injured, non "retired from international play" players.

What the hell have you been doing then??? You really should have watched the Gold Cup. Very surprised you didn't.

Miles Robinson is a big, fast CB that's excellent in one-on-ones, has really good timing and positioning, is good in the air, pretty good with his feet, extremely athletic overall, smart, and has really good lateral quickness especially for a guy his size. He's a very complete CB.

It wouldn't be fun, it's always 6 or 7. It'd be like a poll on who's winning the Bundesliga.

Dude, I love you like a third cousin, once removed on my mother's side and all but...really do you ever think anything is fun? I mean isn't this a bit like the author of The Veganomicon passing judgment on a meatloaf recipe?

You never know. I've heard it said that until he played in the 1998 World Cup in France, Brian Maisonneuve didn't know what his name meant in French.
