Palmer-Brown went the distance on Wednesday, July 8th as Austria Wien beat the second placed team from the Relegation Round, Rheindorf Altach, 1-0 in the single leg semi-final round of Austria's Europa League playoff. Yesterday, they played the home leg of the final round of the Europa League playoff against Hartberg (who finished fifth in the Champions Round). Palmer-Brown went the distance in 3-2 loss. Austria Wien will play the away leg on Wednesday.
Austria has a ridiculous system where the #6 of the Championship Group has no chance of going to the Europa but the top 2 of the Relegation Group have that option.

They qualified for this playoff by virtue of finishing top of the "relegation round." Relegation was decided at the end of the regular season on July 5 - Swarovski Tirol is going down, and just them. The Europa League playoff is for the 3rd and final Europa League spot, with the teams competing being those who finished 5th in the Championship Round (6th gets nothing) and 1st and 2nd in the Relegation Round. EPB and Austria Wien advanced to the two-leg final by beating Altach on July 8, and lost the two-leg final on aggregate yesterday. So, Austria Wien remained comfortably in the Ö. Bundesliga, but did not qualify for European play next season.
slightly harder for EPB to break through. shame on city We’re excited to announce the signing of @NathanAke from Bournemouth on a five-year deal ✍️🔵 #ManCity | https://t.co/axa0klD5re pic.twitter.com/6tyYQ2OVwv— Manchester City (@ManCity) August 5, 2020
He wouldn’t qualify for a Work Permit to play anywhere in England as of now. City might need to move him permanently because of the new loan army rules though.
Ake is home grown. EPB isn't. Not only would he not qualify for the work permit, he doesn't fill that HG spot they need on their squad. The new loan rules and covid mean they need to sell him but won't get near the money they would have in a normal summer. Who's got the money outside of England to buy him?
Member when Leicester was fighting off relegation while also playing in the quarterfinals of the champions league?
