View attachment 249615 After the break this is the standing. From spot 7, Excelsior with 15 points to bottom club Vitesse it's only 7 points. So there's not much difference and all can either relegate or play for a play-off spot. From these clubs only Go Ahead, Excelsior and Sparta and NEC have lost 3 or 4 matches and going by goals scored against them also the best defenses sofar. It's going to be interesting to see what the next 1/3 of the competition is going to show. The Top Four I think isnot going to change in composition, only in ranking. 4933 4933
The turmoil at Volendam, where Jan Smit as a manager was sacked and who'se close with Wim Jonk, might lead to Wim being in solidarity with Jan Smit and leave too. This would open the possibility to reunite him with Ajax. 5216
What I thought possible is now reality. The whole technical staff of Volendam resigned, which means Wim Jonk is available for the Ajax coach job. 5290
PSV are a perfect 14-0 now, 10 points ahead of Feyenooit in standings. Also 50 goals scored and only 6 against
Full credits to Peter Bosz.... who is not really known for his defensive mindset. He tightened up PSV backline (which used to wet their beds in last minutes of the game and lose a ton of points) to be somewhat solid, with largely the same personnel. As Feyenoord just witnessed (though Wieffer probably cursed himself wasted the small opening he was gifted from the last corner kick). Luuk De Jong playing as an extra reinforcement in the defense/midfield worked really well. Schouten continued to impress. Both Veerman and Bakayoko had 8 assists already this season (co-leading the league).
This evening 2 matches, Feyenoord and PSV, so they can go well rested into the final CL group stage matches: 5554
AZ this weekend has the opportunity, more like necesity, to beat PSV and thus keep their sight on one of the CL spots. 5822
Bosz was bound to hit his stride somewhere! I have never seen a guy hit a high and then fall off so bad.
