2 & 4 might be better - 1 & 3 might overvalue the score - i dunno, whatever is cool with everybody else is fine lol that's what you get for asking
Thanks for posting that, all the automatic extracting should work fine now What also could become food for thought, is that now the results are automaticly calculated, there could be some extra points to score For example (and this is just an example) 1 point for the correct result; 1 point for the correct goal difference; 2 point for the correct score; Thus when we take, Ajax - Feyenoord as an example and the result was: 3-5. DSC05 predicted: 0-2 Ajax - Feyenoord his points would be: 1 for the correct result, 1 for the correct goal difference: his points will be: 2. panicfc predicted: 3-5 Ajax-Feyenoord: His points would be 1 for the correct result, 1 for the correct goal difference, 2 for the correct score. his points will be: 5. I dont really care how many points are given, but I dont understand what the plus is on giving high points for everything but keeping the point difference the same. (thus 5 for correct score and 3 for correct result vs 3 for the correct score and 1 for the correct result) btw for mainting the league there will be probally three steps: Step one: Update TIME span Step two: Update RESULTS Step three: Calculated TABLE (of which a basic version works on http://www.onssneek.nl/bigsoccer/test1.php) Step 1, is to give the time span in which the predictions of this week fall. Step 2, is to add the eredivisie results of this week. and Step 3 will be there to make the new table automaticly.
1-1-2 is cool by me... and thanks for all the work on this brother - youdaman! PS-feyemoord couldn't score 5 on AJAX, let's not even suppose
I just made a start at the table: as you can see its an image, but the nice thing is: its automaticy changed. Thus by posting a link to this 'image' in the start post the start post will always show the newest table.
So every week I should start a new post? and include that link? The stats are calculated automatically?
Its not finished yet, Ill try to finish it tommorow. And it doesnt really mather if you start a new thread for every weekend or just keep it in one big thread. But The idea is that you (or who ever is going to do it) goes to: http://www.onssneek.nl/bigsoccer/test.php after the weekend, updates the results. And clicks on "calculated TABLE". Which is supposed to do the rest, thus extracting the predictions and calculates the new table. The "update time span" is there to give the time span in which the predictions should have been made. So for this weekend to start date whould be: 09-15-2003. And the end date 09-19-2003. Something like that, Ill make a manual when its finished
I will do There isnt much left, I still need to extract to post time (which is needed to check if the prediction falls in the right time span) and uhmm ofcourse fancy it all up a bit Oh and the some bug testing.
