  1. Feyenoord without Watanabe visits Heracles
Eredivisie Unbeaten leader Feyenoord will visit low-flyer Heracles. Robin van Persie's team is also doing well outside the Kuip: no club has conceded fewer goals in away games.

Saw the images and what a fokking liar Weghorst is.

Wout Weghorst gives elbow punch to Wouter Goes and later tells: 'He looks for my elbow, cleverly done'.
For both Ajax and the Orange Squad he should honour the "Weg" part in his name...translated: "Out"..

  4. The Eredivisie really is a weird competition.
Sparta was being trashed at the start of the competition, but now starts punching back at opponents far above them in the table.

  5. FC Groningen missed the opportunity to jump over Ajax in the table:

To me, given the quality of play and the player selections, the top 3 will be these top 3.
The ranking of nr 4 to 8 can turn out in any combination possible.
Unless Ajax spends big in the winter break and adds quality and in the meanwhile doesnot lose too many points, at least not more than the other 4, they really are up against a challenging task.

Van den Brom knows that Ajax is not in good shape. 'Of course, in a week like that, you look at what Ajax does against AZ and Chelsea, but you mainly look at what you want to do yourself. Our way of playing football is okay and clear at the moment, but in the execution we can still make steps over longer parts of a match. We will also go into the game on Sunday to play good football. We have to find the solution in football and dare to do that, we can still gain in that.' At FC Twente, Max Bruns and Mathias Kjølø are still injured. Furthermore, Van den Brom has a fit selection.

Feyenoord against PSV: the best defense against the best attack

The cracker between Feyenoord and PSV on Sunday is interesting for several reasons.
Not only are they the numbers one and two in the Netherlands, but it is also a meeting between the best team defensively against the best team offensively.

Starting with the league leader, who has excelled this season with his defensive statistics. The most eye-catching: only 6 goals conceded in 9 matches. That is twice as little as PSV and five goals against less than the next in that ranking (FC Utrecht, eleven goals against). Furthermore, Feyenoord has the best defensive statistics of all clubs this Eredivisie season when it comes to shots against (73), shots on goal against (19) and Expected Goals against (6.2). At home, Feyenoord has not been behind for a minute.

On the other hand, PSV is the best in the Eredivisie offensively.
The Eindhoven team was good for 27 goals in 9 matches, an average of 3 per game. Feyenoord follows together with NEC in second place with 25 goals. Furthermore, PSV has the best attacking statistics of all clubs when it comes to the number of shots (178), shots on goal (71) and Expected Goals (21.6).

An important side note is that Feyenoord comes close to PSV in terms of offensive statistics, but PSV does not come close to Feyenoord in terms of defensive statistics. PSV has conceded an average of 12.6 shots per game this Eredivisie season, more than four more than last season in the league (8.4), an increase of 49 percent. The average of 1.33 goals against per league game is the highest for the Eindhoven team since the 2011/12 season (1.38).

The FC Twente weapon that can now become a plague for Ajax
With Kristian Hlynsson, FC Twente has a new pacemaker. Within the lines, at least. The Icelander provides a lot of dynamism and threat. On Sunday, he can prove himself against Ajax, who let him go for less than two million euros last summer.

Talking to Kristian Hlynsson is like trying to squeeze orange juice out of a stone. At least that's how it feels this Saturday evening, just after the 3-3 draw between NEC and FC Twente. The visitors' attacking midfielder is standing along the field of the Goffert Stadium in the cold. He nods kindly, listens attentively to the questions. More than five years after his transfer from Breidablik to Ajax, he speaks Dutch very well. Hlynsson is only extremely frugal with his answers. His review of the rather spectacular race in Nijmegen? 'One point is good.' It was quite a crazy match, both teams could never really get control. 'If you're 2-1 up, you have to take the three points. But if you're 3-2 down at the end, a point is fine.'

  11. For FC Twente, the match against Ajax is scheduled for Sunday.
The Amsterdam team is anything but in good shape, but according to Ramiz Zerrouki, FC T. is not the favorite on Sunday.
"Certainly not," says the midfielder in conversation with RTV Oost. "If you look at money, budget and players, they are the favorite, but it's up to us not to let them be the favorite at the end of the game and in terms of results. I think we are in a better shape now, but that does not make us the favorite," says Zerrouki. However, FC T. goes into the match with confidence, he indicates. FC T. has been unbeaten since September 13, with three wins and two draws. "It is certain that we go into this game with a lot of confidence if you look at what we have been doing in recent weeks. We are especially looking forward to it. If I also look at the training today, everyone is sharp and wants to keep their full attention, focus and energy on Sunday's plan. That's good to see," said Zerrouki.

    Still no 0 - 0 match after matchday 10!
Remarkable rise by Sparta, as they were trashed several matches at the start of the season, illustrated by their strange goal saldo for a top 6 team, a whopping minus 6 (-6).

Will be interesting to see if Ihattaren plays and how motivated he is to show himself against his old club.

As I predicted Pepi won't be a starter for PSV, given the ROI of the tandem Saibari-Til.
