  1. Withe end of the season/void of the season declared we can focus on the new season and it's difficulties to overcome.

First of all is the question whe will we see fans in the stadium?
The league has afaik sold the rights to televise the matches long term.
However the value of the rights are now much higher in case the ban on fans extend into the new season. The number of watching it must go up compared to pre fan ban. So the value for advertisers went up too.

  2. Van der Sar with a disgusting idea that puts the covid shit on the platters of the small clubs.
He has suggested to play all top club confrontations in 2021, so that the chance it can be played with fans is the biggest. So in laymens wordings play with the top teams against the little clubs when they can't have fans in the stands and the big clubs when it has the biggest chance to be played with fans.
I really have a uncontrollable urge to kick a certain person with steel nosed boots in the nuts.

  3. It seems matches from september the 1st can be played with fans. However with 5 feet sd and no chanting allowed.
Right. Tell me how to enforce that.
Stadiums this way wiil be filled 1/3d of capacity. That'not good for the finances.

  4. KNVB published the covid rules for next season, ‘Protocol Veilige Opstart Betaald Voetbal 2020-2021’.
Stadiums only can allow between 15% until max 35% capacity of fans access.
That's not going to work, it means death for most clubs as Dutch clubs depend for about 65/70% on matchday revenues.

After almost 100 years they found out how the statue near the Olympic stadium (where so many legendary football games have been played) looks like a Hitler salute. It will be removed from the state monument (which should resemble as much as possible the stadium of 1928).

"The Olympic Stadium removes a statue with a raised right hand. Research shows that the greeting that the bronze statue brings can be traced back to a fascist tradition.

For years, passers-by have been amazed by the statue, which seems as if it is the Hitler salute. It was already clear that this is not the case: the artwork dates from 1928, years before the Nazis came to power in Germany.

The explanation was always that the athlete was bringing a Roman salute, a gesture introduced at the 1924 Games as the Olympic salute. The Dutch sculptor Gra Rueb immortalized that attitude at the Amsterdam edition in 1928.

    Mussolini
After consultation with historians, the Olympic Stadium has now come to the conclusion that there is a connection with the fascists. There is no historical evidence that the ancient Romans greeted each other like that. The greeting originated in Italy at the beginning of the last century, based on the painting The Oath of the Horatii.

When Mussolini came to power, the gesture was used more and more in Italy. Hitler's Nazi party eventually also took over the greeting.

    Explanation
In Trouw, director Ellen van Haaren says that the statue will have a place inside the stadium. "It can be seen on guided tours, so we can explain it."

The 3-meter-high statue is intended to honor Baron Van Tuyll van Serooskerken, the first chairman of the Dutch Olympic Committee and the man who brought the Games to our country.

The Olympic salute was abolished after World War II due to its connotation with the Hitler salute."

    R.I.P. to the statues.

"I would understand that shortly after the war people wanted to get rid of this image with so-called Hitler salute, given the association. But now? This says more about this time than about this image. This is the time of the Virtuous Man and his narrow-minded hunt for symbols."

This new season could be as good as it gets to a four-horse race. Not much separating Ajax, AZ, PSV and Feyenoord.

Also, the next tier after the big 4 is pretty competitive as well.

Utrecht played some good attacking football last season. They brought experienced reinforcement (like Elia), while keeping Kerk. Looks like John van den Brom is a rising coaching talent?

I also liked Willem II last season... they played fast and furious. Some exciting young bloods, e.g. Mike Ndayishimiye, Nunnely.

Then of course, Groningen and the Bald Prince.

I would have mentioned Vitesse... but they may be in transition with new coach, and losing talents (Linssen, Matavz).

Their "analysis" is due tomorrow, as the first team of last season's table.

Really nice start to the season for Heerenveen. Veerman and van der Heide were a class apart. Veerman should be in the NT discussion by the end of the season if not sooner, and Arjen (hah) looks like he could make a name for himself as well, very talented looking youngster.

  13. Veerman had excellent moments, but also very casual or even lax moments. On top of that he at moments showed he doesnot scan his surroundings, thus not knowing where his fellow players were. That's something he really needs to adress as it is a major flaw to be considered a top player. I'm very blunt about it as he shows he has the tools to open up venues for players from the midfield, but when in thight spaces in or around the box that scanning of his surroundings on a constant basis is essential. The most obvious case was when he penetrated the box from the right and in the 10 seconds before it never looked around to know where the others were and what moves they were making, thus wasting an open goal scoring chance by going for an own shot instead of passing to the player who came in open position to score.
If he doesnot up that part of his play, he's not going to be a top player.
And that would be a shame as he clearly has vision.

Edit: Was going with a comment that talked about another match.
    He did get injured.

Hij is sowieso de zevende eredivisiespeler ooit die een hattrick scoort bij zijn debuut.
