Out of both who were up for the job, I wanted Chepo. I agree, though. No Zinha. I hope he calls up youngsters.

Vuce seemed too passive for me. More likely to get stepped on by Televisa/Decio and the players. Chepo seems like he doesn't put up with any bs. That being said, I've only seen his Toluca play a handful of times so I'm not sure how the team will play. Best of luck to him.

    Good Choice.

    Young Coach, but ready.

Its gonna be different to have a national team manager that doesn't have an ego the size of the Azteca.

And Hopefully, for the love of christ.....less stubborn.

tbh honest i too think that vuce seemed like too nice of a guy and the media surrounding the NT would have destroyed him.

Im just glad that we got a offensive minded coach, like i said....hopefully he doesnt sway towards the 4-4-2 just to incorporate guardado and vela at the same time...im also tired of that bullshit counter attack style, in four years we should have the tools to play offensive, recover fast, and keep pushing.

BTW i agree with the no sinha stuff....our creative mid has got to be Gio no questions asked...hopefully he can get his club situation handled....

Congrats Chepo. I'm supporting 100% whoever coaches the NT. I don't care if he calls Zinha as long as he can perform and get the job done. Although I know he is smarter than that.

Hell i didn't say not stubborn, just less.

The only thing i can see him totally insisting on is calling Zihna, and we don't even know if he'll do that.

am i the only one who thinks chepo not coaching the copa america/olympic team is retarded? most of the our players for 2014 will be a part of the olympic team...why not give chepo more time to work with them?

stupid, pointless decisions by the fmf once again...

Not thrilled with this decision to say the least, especially if he calls up Sinha. Obviously, I want him to do well with the NT but I would have preferred someone with more "international" experience.

We would be ignorant to think that Chepo will NOT call players that he has had under him for that last few years at least to the first couple of call-ups. He needs to feel comfortable and get his system in place. This happens everytime a new coach comes in that has coached in the FMF. If he calls Sinha, so be it, if he can contribute I dont' care if he is old.

I also do not like Chepo not coaching Copa America, that will be quite a bit of players that will be on field for us come 2014 in Brasil, with Copa America being in South American and the WC being in South America in 2014, I think it's a lost opportunity.

I'm guessing he's gonna call up Sinha, Rios and Dueñas regularly, maybe give Calderon and Talavera a shot.

Good choice to pick Chepo btw, 3 titles in 4 years (with 2 different teams) means he can get results quickly.

I you are wrong, but you are probably right.

now its time to support this guy and hopefully he can last the full 4 years, for the sake of prosperity.

they already started with the negativities

    http://www.mediotiempo.com/futbol/s.../chepo-salio-de-tigres-por-la-puerta-de-atras

they had to come up with this article right after he was named NT coach.

I feel bad for Chepo. The FMF is a circus, and not too many people are thrilled about Chepo (it seems most fans wanted Vuce, as did I) becoming the coach. You can see Compean and Decio with an expresionless face, kind of like they couldn't care less about the moment during the press conference.

I wasn't thrilled at first, but fuk it...I'm supporting him 100%. I wish him the best with our team, and hope he takes us to the promised land.

    Vamos Chepo!
