i am glad DdG saved that so that Lingard can have his moment. that's what happens with a cold taker. they didn't deserve it anyway. blow your bullshit bubbles now
100%. Dave's play so far in no way warrants Henderson getting a shot. He's really been back to his best. Absolutely no reason to change anything in that department at this time. Earning himself A LOT of rope right now at minimum. The discussion regarding who's Manchester United's number one ends now!De Gea is clear!#MUFC pic.twitter.com/SKYC6YTww5— W. That really was stupid: thought that Rice was the usual pk taker. So strange that Moyes is going to bring in someone completely cold in such an important situation. No complaints here though and once again: thank you, Moyesay!!!
that reminded me of chelsea getting too clever for their own good when they wanted terry to take the winning kick
When they said two goals in two games for Jesse I thought oh they counted the YB goal as his goal lol then I remembered he scored last week a beauty. Jesse's finish today and last weekend were top drawer. He has scored some nice goals not as many as he should maybe this is the year. Regarding the game I like the substitutions the only difference I would have moved Pogba to CM with McT and taken off Fred. We need energy and width and Ole saw that.
Needed that one, big time! Incredible last minute scenes at the London Stadium! 😱 pic.twitter.com/G4P1jv9F7e— Football Daily (@footballdaily) September 19, 2021
I said it before and I'll say it again, this team is in desperate need of coaching. Our midfield isn't cohesive at all and our forward line lacks movement. Dominating possession means nothing if our play is slow and plodding, and I'm sick to death of us waiting until we concede before we decide to start playing with some urgency. Less Fred, more VDB, and I need to see Dalot start before the year is out.
Hope in the press conference Ole says we are not getting pks because its Ronaldo. He needs to shine a light on this or it will continue.
Will be seeing plenty of him starting this coming week and then for 3 big CL games. Up to him to seize his chance in those games at minimum to give Ole something to think about.
Really pleased for Lins - as a confidence player, getting that goal after mid-week was hugely important. Was an unusual quick, sharp and accurate pass from Matic for the assist too.
Safe to say he was due, although as stated Moyes really made it easy for him with that moronic decision. But hey, nice to get the breaks once in a while. David de Gea saves a penalty for the first time since April 23, 2016 (vs Romelu Lukaku). That save ends a run of 40 successive penalties faced for club & country without a save (including shootouts). Here's the placement of the 40 penalties before today... #MUFC pic.twitter.com/dMCCESzB1M— Opta Analyst (@OptaAnalyst) September 19, 2021
Bigger picture, away against West Ham can be a tricky match, our competition may well lose points in this fixture - so very important win. Deserved too; West Ham (1.67) 1-2 (2.06) Man Utd— The xG Philosophy (@xGPhilosophy) September 19, 2021
Fred has been awful this season. He really holds us back simply because he’s so ********ing imprecise, with his touches and his passing. Matic in the space of a few minutes showed what a VAST difference it makes when you can control the ball with one touch and then play a perfectly weighted, sharp vertical pass. Ronaldo should have scored at least one more, probably two - McTominay’s fantastic through ball and that gift at the start of the 2nd half. I thought McTominay was broadly excellent btw. We should also have had at least one penalty. ******** Martin Atkinson, man. And ******** the stupid rule changes that get brought in every year, leading to refs taking 3-6 months to stop interpreting the new rules like absolute ********ing imbeciles.
If Matic can go once a week, there is no question that Ole needs to figure out a way to use him more. Gives us someone who can play in the holding role, someone Pogs can actually play deeper in midfield with (which will be an issue once Rashford returns). And he just does things neither Mc, nor Fred can. Until that conundrum is sorted, Ole needs to figure out how to make the most of Matic in the meantime. The other benefit Nemanja brings is that he often breaks lines. He does it with Fernandes here but the latter was quickly closed down. This is something we should be doing more of throughout the season but often only comes with the Matic–Pogba pivot.Something to figure out. pic.twitter.com/jd7sgyEMQ8— UtdArena (@UtdArena) September 12, 2021
Having seen officiating that poor in a long time. Shocking stuff. I was very critical of the Lingard sub, but I've got to keep my mouth shut right now. Really good 3 points.
